1. Where are my links to what?
2. You're extremely late to this discussion. I have been here since the begining. I have provided tons of links and I have been reading what people have been saying and have provided facts, links, questions, etc. to either back up or debunk what people have been saying. Where have you been?
3. Wow, what was that (about the storm surge)? 10 pages and a month ago? I went back and looked at that post and I can see how it can misleading. What I was saying was, that just because Katrina's winds weren't as strong as they were a day before does not mean the storm surge went down with the winds. When you have a storm with that low a pressure, the storm surge will be big whether it's winds are at cat 5 or slightly weakening to a cat 4. In other words:
Winds increase - Surge increases
After storm has reached it's peak winds and begins to settle but still has a ridiculously low pressure - Surge stays basically the same
All of that is irrelevant to the discussion however, and I'm not sure why you brought that back up.

you didnt support nearly as many links. im not gunna say you havent posted any because i have seen some here and there.

im just saying whatever scientific facts you do post, should come with a credible link. that goes for anybody. im not saying i believe titor or not because i can in no way prove nor disprove him. so it could go either way.

i have read most of this thread except for the mid to late september part of this year. all i am saying is that everytime you state something, post the links with it.

anyone out there curious if a real physicist ever weighed in on titor ?

yup

Wow.... long. lol. Sounds like that guy knows what he is talking about, and there are some fundamental flaws with JT's story. Although you can't really disprove time travel, he screwed himself by posting details.

Good post Syrinx. I enjoyed that. I'd be interested to know how many scientists and quantum mechanic theorists have read about JT and what they think of it.

those calculations make my head hurt. I've learned a lot on these boards. I learned we went to the moon 6 times, not once. And I learned a lot about physics this week, thanks to JT

my favorite part of the post from the professor

An amusing computation: Suppose r_s = 1 fm (somewhat smaller than "an

I was looking for an article like this for a while. I'm glad syrinx high priest pointed this aspect of John Titor's story out. Titor's greatest fault was that he gave out to much details and this lead to inconsistencies.

I'm absolutely sure that he is a hoax. The biggest piece of evidence to debunk him, next to this civil war not occurring is that he evaded many questions about the future of the environment.

no the biggest flaw is the science involved, thats it.

maybe he should have been a better physicist, then maybe he could have made sense on a scientifical scale.

grimreaper797 let me do a breakdown on what you just said.

You said that science was the biggest flaw. Basicly that just proved him as a fraud. Just means that Titor just lied about the whole story.

People are gullible, if I decide to walk out on the street right now and claim that I was a time traveler most people would say that I was a complete moron. But, if I made up some fake science, plagiarized the works of Stephen Hawking and Michio Kaku, and showed up on a forum of a conspiracy website saying the exact same thing. I bet people will still call me crazy but there will be a few people that will think that I was the real thing.

You don't understand that people have titles for a reason.

Dr. Robert Brown, physicist and Duke University

Go, up to him and call him a bad physicist. He will laugh and tell you to ask him that again when you become a physicist at a University. They know alot more then you do on the subject.

sorry, can't resist to perpetuate a dead thread, i'm a necroposter

ok, how to alledgedly create microsingularities? a particle accelerator you say? these things are desgined to hurl sub-nuclear particles at close to lightspeed, but...

how does a 200lbs blackhole fit into that picture? not at all, obviously, so yes, the story's science is bogus, which does, imho, NOT mean his prophecy coming partially true (security vs liberty, WMD as a word, and so on) is any less alarming. i have no explanation

this guy was probably sumone who did his research, maybe he was a history teacher for all we know. Many things he "predicted" would be concidered anything but random to some one educated in past world and u.s. history. ESpecially if he kept up on many current events. Give him credit for the research he was able to do to be able to give a good guess on when many things would happen based on the current new at that time and past history.

he definately had his eyes open to what was going on and obviously had a good sense of how politics plays out and overall events play out.

he was just too weak on science to be valid. mainly because of how he got here. i believe time travel is possible but he proved he doesnt know a way to do it (miscalculations, theories werent accurate to physics he used) one thing scienctifically i did agree with him on is that infinate amount of worlds there are.

I play alot of 'what if' games in my head (thats the whole reason im even in these forums) and i can't help but think "what if i were a time traveler from right now and i went back in time 30 years... what would i tell people (keeping in mind the 'timetraveler code')?"

Besides all the obvious ways and means of debunking JT, this 'what if' is what makes me skeptical.

If i went back to 1975 from 2005 i'd tell people to stop polluting, invest time and money in clean energy or you will destroy the planet (or something along those lines). I would not bother with: who will be president(s), wars/conflicts, natural disasters, music/trends, alien/government conspiracies, or even how i was able to travel in time.

Pollution/globalwarming/melting polar ice/forrest depletion/extinction of species/ozone layer/methods of clean energy/getting off the grid etc... - would all be extremely high on my priority list.

How come JT didn't do that? Knowledge from the future can save the human race, all he did was stir up politics. Thats it in a nutshell - stirred up politics.

Not only are my grave concerns not addressed, he blows them off as if its all insignificant. I know plenty of youth today who are wholeheartedly in the 'environmental camp' without beeing 'tree hugging hippies. If he were a youth today, why would he not be concerned (or even informed) on the subject?

When i place myself in his position, it seems that i see it from a completely different viewpoint than he did.

I get it , but really would be a waste of his time (if he was really time travelling). These are things we are understanding and making changes toward already. In the future (from his perspective) we will continue the progress at a particular rate. Now imagine you are living in a war torn world in 2036 - and clearly the environment hasn't made the world uninhabitable (as he mentions to worry of this).

So do you tell the people in 1999\2000, right before the begginning of a great conflict which will snowball into the greatest world war the world had ever seen, about the conflict, it's causes, etc. or "hey, stop polluting. Buy the Prius!".. No... You tell them about the war..

exactly, why would he tell people about problems with the enviorment... when in his time there is no problem with the enviorment.

You tree-huggers are expecting the worst to happen over a short period of time... the truth is that it will take hundreds of years to have the effect that you expect their to be by 2036.

So why would he talk about the enviorment, on the cusp of the greatest and most horrible World War???

John Titor
“On my worldline, life is not easy. We live in a world recovering from years of war, poison, destruction and hate. All of it, courtesy of the thinking and actions of people that live right now in the same world you do, worrying about which stocks to buy or whether or not a stranger is lying to them on the Internet.”

“You realize you can't stop the war but you may be able to help them prepare for it.”

“The war is a result of faulty politics and desperation from Western leadership during the US civil war.”

”…political situations are dependant on Western stability, which collapses in 2005.”

“The year 2008 was a general date by which time everyone will realize the world they thought they were living in was over.”

“By 2008, I would say the civil conflict is pretty much at everyone's doorstep. Western instability during the conflict leads to the attack in 2015. WWIII is very short with a longer period of mop up.”

EU in crisis over Turkish membership
18 October 2005
Negotiations for Turkey’s accession to the European Union began officially on October 3. The diplomatic wrangling in the run-up to these negotiations and the implications of Turkish membership show clearly that the EU represents neither the genuine unification of Europe nor a social and democratic project.

Are you telling me that the world will be LESS polluted after a nuclear war? That the environment will be better off than it is now?

Is JT's world less polluted than mine? Preposterous! It's got to be at least 10 times as worse.

Let me ask you this (my 8 year old actually came up with the question):

How do they get clean water?
or even uncontaminated soil and food?

You think acid rain is bad, you should check out nuclear acid rain... years and years of it.

If you could go back to 1930 (from our modern world) what would you tell people about their upcoming war?

so, did anyone see where his suitcase would have to fit 2 items weighing a billion metric tons ? how can anyone still believe in his story now ?

please look back at the posts on this page, kudos to the poster that found it.
