Great song , Chris Rea has one of those voices that caress your ears as you listen , great lyricist too.

The song was written about the M25 , having been stuck on the M25 many a time I agree , it is the road to hell.

It is hell. Friday afternoon missing the junction (23?) to the A1 and having to double back. Did it too many times. Stupid mistake. Mind was elsewhere. I just checked the unction number now, it is 23 and there is traffic there even now.

Although for me the M25 to A1 was the road away from hell.

Chris was going to marry Princess Di back in the 90s, she would have then been Princess Di Rea
