If you actually read the study and the conclusions that I posted, the scientists are not saying anything about the sun. The study talks about how temperature and humidity affect the East Asian Summer Monsoon (EASM) by either increasing and decreasing its intensity and the interaction between the EASM and the ocean

The study also concludes that warming and cooling is a cyclical phenomenon that has happened before and will happen again. It notes that the northern treeline is already starting to retreat. This is a pretty good clue that the global weather is cooling.

Well it seems he put the Sun in as the front runner..

“Driving forces include the sun, the atmosphere, and its interaction with the ocean,”

I'm not a big global warming person, I think humans affect it much less than what the leftist narratives are saying, BUT if we do not do a course correction in the next 40 or so years, and not with only C02, we will mostly see huge negative impacts on on the earth and us within 100 or so years. There will reach a tipping point of no return at some point.

The science debate is slowly coming back to what I was taught in school in the mid 70s.

We are at the end of the warming period and will soon have to deal with global freezing.

When another mini ice age hits, as it has done before, the world's population will fall dramatically.

Study the event known as 'The Little Ice Age.'

Multitudes died due to crop failure and there were not that many humans on the earth.

Consider what will happen when one of these strikes us again.

Sometimes you need to look the the Chinese and Russians for the truth of things. It is no wonder the overlords in the U.S. Deep State don’t like them.

They don't like them is because they don't control them. This why they want US bases in China which not even Russia going to support. Military build up is the sole reason. So please join the war and support your overlords.

Thanks.

So, the paper says nothing about solar activity and is discussing what happened to the climate in the Lake Moon region as the last glacial period ended.

It doesn't seem to say anything about the present or future. Nothing about a 500 year cycle. Globally or otherwise.

She doesn't seem to be talking about global cooling. She seems to be talking about internal variability affecting the area around Moon lake.

Yes she does talk about being more worried about cooling. At the end of the article she states clearly...

...
As a result of the research findings, Wu said she was now more worried about cooling than warming.

A sharp drop of temperature will benefit nobody. The biggest problem is, we know it will come, but we dont know exactly when.

According to Wu, the variation in solar activity alone was usually not strong enough to induce the rapid changes in vegetation the research team recorded in the sediment cores of Moon Lake. Instead, the scientists found the warming impact was amplified by a massive, random interaction between surface seawater and the atmosphere in the Pacific Ocean known as the El Nino-Southern Oscillation.

Weird. The terms "500 year cycle" and "random interaction" don't seem to go together very well.

I don't suppose you've found a link to the actual paper? The South China Post seems to be confused.

Did you take off your thinking cap Phage? She is obviously stating that the El Niño-Southern Oscillation occurs randomly, it doesn't occur in the same month and at the same time as past El Niños. The right conditions have to occur and when this happens El Niño amplifies the warming impact from the sun.

Do you forget that for example the El Niño began to occur sometime in 2015 but then it weakened and almost disappeared only to re-appear again stronger in 2016? That's the randomness of the El Niño that she is talking about they saw in the research.

There is nothing confusing in the article.

The paper says nothing about cooling. And the other statements about the study don't give me a lot of confidence in the article's interpretations of what she may or may not have said.

There is nothing confusing in the article.
Actually there is much which is confusing about it.This for example:

The study found that winds from Arctic Siberia have been growing weaker, the conifer tree line has been retreating north, and there has been a steady rise in biodiversity in a general warming trend that continues today.

Since the study deals with a time period which ended 10.8 thousand years ago it's hard to see how that conclusion can be reached. Yes, we know it got a lot warmer back then. That's why the last glacial period ended. Confusing as to how the article extrapolates from 10,800 years ago to say it's been warming ever since. Confusing as to why the article says this:

A new study has found winters in northern China have been warming since 4,000BC

Confusing as to why it talks about the sun and a 500 year cycle when nothing like that appears in the study. The article seems to have very little to do with the study.

However, on closer examination. It appears that the study linked by someone earlier may not be the one referred to in the article.
So, again, do you happen to have a link to the study?

I found the actual study, but it's behind a paywall.

On the centennial to millennial time scale, the results of wavelet analysis and band‐pass filtering show that the occurrence and development of El Niño have also promoted a weaker EAWM after ~6.0 ka cal. BP, which is inversely correlated with the variation of the ca. 500‐year cycle originated from changes in solar output.
agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com...

It seems to be referencing this study, as does the China Morning Post article.

This 500-year cyclic climate change occurred in EA during the mid-late Holocene and even the last 150 years dominated by anthropogenic forcing. It was almost in phase with a ,500-year periodic change in solar activity and Greenland temperature change, suggesting that ,500-year small variations in solar output played a prominent ole in the mid-late Holocene climate dynamics in EA, linked to high latitude climate system. Its last warm phase might terminate in the next several decades to enter another,250-year cool phase, and thus this future centennial cyclic temperature minimum could partially slow down man-made global warming.
www.researchgate.net... cord

Which coincides with what a lot of climatologists have to say about a potential decline in solar activity, though it's specific to Eastern Asia. It might slow down global warming a bit.

But using "cycles" found in historical proxies to forecast the future is often problematic.

Wether we are contributing to climate change or not, it doesn’t alter the fact we are polluting the crap out the earth, poisoning the oceans and effectively making the planet a harder place to live on for future generations.

Greed is the problem.

Yes polluting the hell out of our water and food , Also destroying species as we go !

Lost to the ravages of our greed !

Luckily we have some top scientists working the science magic

reactoir turns green house gas into liquid fuel

This should be made into legislation , any factory or business that doesnt have these installed cant operate or are subject to fines big enough to make them think twice about failing to comply.

This shouldn't be an excuse to increase production and waste because we can counteract it , we should be using it to reduce the damage completely as we transition to a energy renewable world.

one reason we arent switching to renewables too fast is because it goes against geopolitical military defense strategy , its easier to stop an all renewable grid system by hacking and EMP
where as fossil fuels are harder to stop .
