Most don’t realize that the Hebrew people went to war with giants. They weren’t normal people by any means. They purged the land of them. There was giants in the days before the flood, and after.
Complete BS

I understand what your saying, but there are 1200 bc deposits that have been uncovered.

Even if not Thera eruption, some other climate change, or some environmental factor could of precursed such a large incursion.

I still stand by the Philistines as a potential sea people.

One thing I never understood about these fantasy stories about giants is that they are always men. If these giants bred like normal animals and humans there would also be female giants. We never hear about those. So either all these stories are complete BS born out of a masculinity complex or there was some kind of weird genetic modification by aliens or something to come up with these freaks. Since there is no real evidence to support any of this other than hearsay from ancient comic books it’s just another idea for a movie or video game.

Many of the myths of old draw from real events in earth's history. The Bible, is not a collection of myths, but of events that really happened. It is a reliable and accurate history of humankind.

It has been speculated by some, and not without some authority, that many of the ancient myths of Greek and Egyptian mythology of gods living as humans, and having human hybrid offspring, such as that of Zeus and Hercules come from the truths about the angels who materialized and had hybrid human offspring that were indeed giants.

The hybrid offspring that comes to my mind off-hand is that that of a horse and a donkey, which is a mule, it cannot reproduce. And mules (the hybrid offspring of a male donkey and female horse, the reverse, that is offspring of a female donkey and male horse known as hinnies which are much rarer) can be both male or female, although not being able to reproduce.

The Bible record does state that the offspring of the angels that materialized as humans and had sexual relations with women were "sons", they were giants, they were fierce, ungodly, violent.

such references as we find are mostly in re kings and soldiers. not many women involved there.

ancient cultures were not at all feminist. most treated women as property, little better than servants.

Sea people are a bunch of different people, they came from many places. A few settled, some were repelled, others all killed, etc... Those who settled mixed with local pop and became the people of the Iron age. The Philistines were probably one of them.

The list of sea people in the 1177bc book looks like this :

Shardana = Sardinia?
Shekelesh = Sicily?
Tjekker = Sikels or Troad?
Denyen = Danaans/Danaoi(Greeks)?
Weshesh = Wilusa (Troy)?
Peleset = Philistines?

So basically, it's everybody east of the Mediterranean west coast...
Whatever made them move is probably climate related. They were not exclusively military expeditions, they were settlers with their whole families. Cultural factors might have played a role in this move because they probably came from the old trade networks of the early bronze age. Some might have had legitimate claims to the lands they wanted to settle... A domino effect might have helped them gather more people as they made their way to the rich and fertile eastern kingdoms. Back the the early bronze age, almost all cultures had ties to everyone and if not by direct contact, they knew of each others through friends, etc... One thing is for sure though, something made them move and send 2 main expeditions within 30 years. The legitimate claim of the land is a rabbit hole in itself and fall in the pseudo science realm... but it's a fun one to go deep into.

If you accept the concept of 2 different and not totally compatible human species mating, you can explain the less than desirable results. The males were either born retarded or went crazy as they grew and the female probably never survived or were simply born dead. It would explain why there's nothing about them in the old texts.

Were these giants cannibals? It seems that would be a reason to attack and drive them out. Is there a correlation between Canaan and cannibalism? It was practiced in Egypt. Maybe they made there way to the Americas after this time. That could explain temple structures in Central and South American equivalent to the Egyptian pyramids and the similar ritual practices and interest in astronomy.

The pyramid in false religious customs and worship found throughout the world comes from Babylon. If you remember it was at the tower of Babel (which means babble, or gibberish) the languages of humankind were confused. That tower of a ziggurat.

They wanted to build a tower into the heavens and make a name for themselves. God confused the languages of the people building that tower and they each splintered off from there according to their language groups. Each taking with them, basic fundamental false religious dogma and tradition. That is why all false religion around the world is linked. It all stems back to Babylon. And that is why all false religion in Revelation is referred to as Babylon the great, a prostitute that sits on the backs of many peoples and prostitutes herself to the political elements of the world.

stop with the bad etymology

Borrowed from Spanish caníbal, from Taíno caniba, the Taíno form recorded by Christopher Columbus for the Caribs, who were greatly feared. From an Arawakan language, probably Taíno.

capital of Babylon, now a ruin near Hillah in Iraq, late 14c., from Late Latin, from Hebrew Babhel (Genesis xi), from Akkadian bab-ilu "Gate of God" (from bab "gate" + ilu "god").

The Egyptian pyramids are way older than Babylon. Try other books than the Old Testament for a change.

The timeline you have used for your input data is interesting, for it correlates to the timeline corruption of the greater chronological temporal corruption of the biblical mythos. It proves either Moses was a time traveler or the scholars who compiled the time periods of these people had an agenda to dilute the antiquity of the protagonists of the bible.

But why would they want to make the bible characters seem younger, weaker, and less impactful in human history? Who benefits?

en.wikipedia.org...

By many accounts, this is the Pharoah of Exodus. Exodus was about a man named Moses in Pharoah's court. This man died in 1525 BC. Moses was 40-80 years old when the Exodus took place. Who's lying? And why? By some accounts Abraham was born around 2166BC, but other scholars want you to think it was 1800 BC. Some say Joseph was around 1800-1700 BC but modern scholars place him at 1445BC...

Again, who benefits? Is there not some tale of a Messiah having an absolute latest day to arrive being around 2200-2300AD?

Appeal to authority is infectious and should be avoided.

Giant Skeleton

The earliest Jewish text describing Goliath's height was 4 cubits and a span which is 6'8 ft , It was only many years later when some 10th century jewish scribes claimed Goliath was 6 cubits tall.

Goliath's stature as described in various ancient manuscripts varies: the oldest manuscripts, the Dead Sea Scrolls text of Samuel, the 1st-century historian Josephus, and the 4th-century Septuagint manuscripts, all give his height as "four cubits and a span" (6 feet 9 inches or 2.06 metres), whereas the Masoretic Text gives this as "six cubits and a span" (9 feet 9 inches or 2.97 metres).[9][10] The taller reading probably arose through the error of a scribe whose eye was drawn by the number "six hundred" in verse 17:7. A number of other scholars suggest it simply grew as it was being repeated.[11][

So yes of course 12 feet giants didn't exist , but these people were noticeably larger than the average person.

I'm not sure about Jewish text but In The ancient Greek text of Homer's Odyssey it describes Phoenician (Canaanite) women as being tall.

"Now to this place there came some cunning traders from Phoenicia in a ship which they had freighted with gewgaws of all kinds. There happened to be a Phoenician woman in my father's house, very tall and comely, and an excellent servant;

- [Homer Odyssey; 750 BCE]

Homer also describe female giants In the Odyssey

they met a young woman who had come outside to fetch water, and who was daughter to a Laestrygonian named Antiphates. She was going to the fountain Artacia from which the people bring in their water, and when my men had come close up to her, they asked her who the king of that country might be, and over what kind of people he ruled; so she directed them to her father's house, but when they got there they found his wife to be a giantess as huge as a mountain, and they were horrified at the sight of her.
