The author of your source is a cofounder of a pro immigrant California organization which has proceeds from donations as a NPO. Perhaps search out Gonzales's finding federal funding for "mental health"..."family togetherness"...hell he sells t-shirts!

The fact is immigration courts are not criminal courts, they exist prior as civil only and litigants are not guaranteed council, period. No more free council us the issue if read closely. Hence the shift.

Because it doesnt technically break laws it's not a power grab?

It seems this has been tried before from Obama era. And it was shut down. It's a power grab. Attempting to make 440 judges essentially irrelevant, to streamline a process where over 900,000 cases need to be heard isnt democratic either.

en.m.wikipedia.org...

Once again, the complete authority to implement processes for applying immigration law sits with the Executive branch - and thus is 100% under the control of the President.
Your crazy ideas are basically saying that the govt is grabbing power from itself. Laughable.

Democratic process, or democracy is a very broad subject, which includes republics.

Did the big words confuse you?

consolidation of power into permanent minority rule.

Isn't anywhere near a democratic process. OP is correct, they are shuffling around the courts to gain full control of it. But hey, what ever keeps them illegals out.

Democracy is indeed a very broad subject.. however we are talking specifically about the American Constitutional version of it.

Perhaps if you put down Mein Kampf and took the time to read the Constitution, you might have a little more understanding of the actual topic.

As an off note, a person that cannot comprehend the phrase "shall not be infringed" asking me about my reading comprehension skills is a very funny thing.

What does any of that have to do with the subject?

Do any of you actually read into what is going on or just think the POTUS can do what ever they want with immigration?

Obama attempted to do this and was denied by the supreme court because of republican backlash. Obama included a second chance for illegals, hence why these judges exist.

If enacted, the bill would have made it possible for many undocumented immigrants to gain legal status and eventually citizenship. It would have increased border security by adding up to 40,000 border patrol agents. It also would have advanced talent-based immigration through a points-based immigration system.

Buh-but the Dems want to flood America with as many illegals as possible!

Potus can do anything he wants within the law to administer the laws of the land.
It's reasonable to disagree with the President. It's not reasonable to lie about there being a power grab or an 'anti-democracy' element involved.

It is a power grab. The republicans basically stole the idea from the Dems after they DENIED such a motion to pass.

Long and behold, another position stolen from the Obama admin and the Trump admin now takes credit for it. Tho, it's much worse of a deal for illegals to be honest. Good grief, Trump supporters will literally jump off a cliff for the man and twist every little detail to make him look like god.

Lol, taking someone else's idea is a power grab?

Hey, newsflash - Obama and his admin have no power. They're gone. He's yesterday's man and historically a complete failure of a President.

Actually, it takes a bit more than just reading the Constitution itself to properly comprehend it as intended.

I would recommend The Constitution, then the following:

Elliot's Debates
The Federalist Papers
The Anti-Federalist Papers

There are a lot of other excellent sources, but these are the bare minimum to gain a decent grasp of the true meaning and intent of everything in our beloved Constitution, especially it's shortcomings.
