Using animal surrogates for human cloning

So I've been having this idea of using animals as surrogates to give birth to human clones. In movies they would usually use artificial wombs to grow human clones however realistically it would be impossible to replicate the functions of a uterus. So it would be much easier instead to use animals as surrogates for harvesting human clones.

I came up with the idea when I learned about cross species surrogacy where scientists would implant fertilized eggs of one species into the uterus of another. scientists have been successful with this to some extent , the biggest hurdles being 1) different Gestation periods and 2) Immune system rejection.

In 2009 scientists had genetically engineered pigs to grow human organs. They managed to do this by combining human cells & pig cells allowing these pigs to be born with a human Immune system a term also known as "humanization".

As mentioned before one of the hurdles with cross species surrogacy is that the female surrogate's immune system would reject the baby. By genetically engineering humanized animals the animal surrogate would be able to host a human embryo/fetus without an aggressive immune response. The second hurdle would be to find animals with the same gestation period as humans (9 months) to carry the human fetus.

One animal I thought would be a good candidate was a farm cow since they have a gestation period of 9 months however since cows aren't omnivores they won't provide the appropriate nutrients for a human fetus. The only other candidate I found were Chimpanzees and Seals both having 9 month gestation periods and would provide enough nutrients for a human fetus. If you can manage to genetically engineer a humanized chimpanzee/seal and implant a fertilized cloned human embryo inside it's womb then you can give birth to a cloned human.

Theoretically my plan should work. But I wouldn't want animal welfare knocking on my door and get arrested for animal abuse.

As a bull who has been used as a surrogate, I will say you're on the right track with "cows". The key is to find the ones who are cannibulls.

George W. Bush asked Congress “to pass legislation to prohibit the most egregious abuses of medical research: human cloning in all its forms; creating or implanting embryos for experiments; creating human-animal hybrids; and buying, selling or patenting human embryos.”

George W Bush was visionary. The greatest American president in my lifetime!

Guys, I don't know about you, but, my father had two antlers when I was born.

Anyways, I'm going to marry my girlfriend who seems to have cat ears.
