If these emails contain classified information then they contain classified information. They will show what they show and the investigation should reflect that.

Federal agencies have the ability to classify information after the fact. So some of the emails weren’t classified when Clinton sent or received them, but they are classified now.

Also, there are rules for handling information from foreign governments. Some of those rules have been confused in media reports. And while Clinton’s team seems to have tried to keep classified information off her server, there are grey areas that they may have missed.

Of course they were marked after the fact because the fact is:

They were sent without any classifying authorities seeing them beforehand (so how could anybody even "mark" them?) !!!

And of course, thousands of servers were involved because the emails went to thousands of different recipients with different email addresses and systems (mostly public systems too!)😎

Giving the laptop to anyone is theft. Those emails were classified, so that violates the espionage act. Allowing a pedophile to use the laptop to solicit a minor, is material support to the commission of a felony.

And as to Hillary doing nothing wrong, former head of the fbi gave a 10 minute press conference showing how she violated the law. Even stated anyone else would be prosecuted.

Your understanding is incorrect:

From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were “up-classified” to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent.

Some were classified at a later date, but the information in the emails in question was still classified whether or not it was marked as such.

Regardless of when information was marked classified (or not), each instance was a separate violation of federal law pertaining to the storing and transmitting of classified information.

Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson, Bryan Pagliano, and Paul Combetta (at a minimum) all should be in jail right this moment for the blatant disregard of federal law in the handling of this entire situation, but instead they were all given immunity deals to cover up the facts.

Do I expect anyone involved in the process to ever face any sort of repercussions for this?

Not at all, though I would love to be pleasantly surprised.
