what happened to Richard Hogland?

I have been away for quite a while now (being in Iraq has that effect), but what happened to Richard Hogland and his "Monuments of Mars"? Did he give up on all of it? His website is down and I cant find anything recent about him. I wonder if maybe somewhere along the lines with those rovers up there that they found something and he found out about it.
