Devaluating one's currency allows Chinese manufacturers to lower the prices of their goods and raises Chinese imports.
Also, the Chinese announced that they will no longer be buying US agricultural products.

You might want to look at the detrimental effects currency devaluation has on a country's economy.

You might also want to look the quality of food imports from China into the US.

Then ask yourself who is really hurt when China devaluates its currency, and Chinese people eat what they were sending here.

Most importantly, ask yourself why China should care about US tariffs. The Chinese don't pay them, Americans do. They can still produce and sell their products for the same price. And if Americans have a true demand for the products, we will buy them, tariffs or no.

Who the hell said surrender to China?

I sure didn’t.

I don’t like China. It’s a dictatorial country that puts people in jail for their beliefs

The thread was about the edge China has in the trade war. I didn’t start it to debate Obama versus Trump

The usual Trump fanatics, who can't seem to talk about anything but the defense of Trump started the thread on another topic..their defense of Trump.

I said NOTHING about surrendering to China!

DOW is up 9000 points under Trump and record wage growth for the AVERAGE American. The sky is falling though, trust them.

Why is China buying so much gold and dumping the dollar. Also buying bitcoin...

Perhaps they know that with the astronomical deficit, the $$$ is on shaky ground. You can't print enough money to prevent the inevitable.

What's your point?

China devalued its own currency. They seem to think it's worth it.

They did it because a low valued currency allows a country to lower the prices of their goods

Trump, himself condemned it as he always does so it obviously isn't good for us

Why did we have ZERO wage growth at the end of Obama's term? Then record growth as soon as he is gone?

It's been steadily increasing since around 2011.

Wage Growth

Hard to explain that away.

Speak for yourself.

Go back and look at your posted chart one more time...

What , like they always have ?
Nothing new.
Countries always buy gold.
Especially in the "good times".
Bitcoin is a very small "stand-by"

the $$$ is on shaky ground

Know how many times I have heard that same bullsh__ rhetoric just in my lifetime ?

trick is to sell the gold in small pieces id imagine as isnt it not needed to be declared if you sell less then 10k of it>? we have been debating what to do with the gold my uncle left us when he passed and my parents put me in charge of selling it but in total its more accurately weighed in pounds of the stuff in various coins (400ish quarter eagles,200 half eagles and 180ish double eagles and random bullion in ounce denominations) www.walmart.com... 001628&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=359251756000&wl4=aud-566049426705:pla-778651742343&wl5=9021400&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=125206949&wl11=online&wl12=2525 18636&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjwp5_qBRDBARIsANxdcimP7_tngOhs6NJJTYYSud7uPia7WaiuZB4ODGa_1p-SfNCwAOvx1jsaAt3pEALw_wcB they look like those just for reference

my fiancial buddy seems to imply this isnt that bad of a thing going on as the interest rates are low and is a market adjustment but this is far from my area of expertise ,but he works on a hedge fund in seattle so i tend to trust what he says

That graph shows a HUGE jump under Trump and stagnation under Obama with a little increase, 2013-2015 look pretty similar in your graph. Why post something that supports me? I posted numbers.

2015 48,098.63
2016 48,642.15
2017 50,321.89

Quantitative Easement, and Obama dumping trillions into the economy, hiring government workers. . . . and (to tie in to the thread) giving preferred treatment to China to OUR detriment.

Great points. So if we take your rhetoric as truth and Trump's economic policy toward China has been a disaster; what do we do now ... besides take the opportunity to gloat?

Do we reverse course on the trade war with China? Hand them the win and ask them nicely to be friends again? And if we do that what will be the consequences? Will the Chinese use our admission of weakness against us? Or will they simply be chummy about it knowing that it wasn't all of America's fault, just the disgraced Donald Trump's fault?

That is the entire point.
The rate of tariffs imposed on China , vs . the Chinese tariffs imposed on the US (and the rest of the world as a matter of fact.)
Leveling the field
China will blink first.

If they were smart they would devalue their currency to zero value. Just think of how low they could price their goods than.

And since they are a dictatorship they can just tell their people to suck it up.

One thing China can do is dump its US bonds! They hold over a trillion in US bonds

That would be devastating but they say China won't do that since it would lower the prices of their own US holdings.

Though China has threatened this-- they say but to my point...

The Trump administration should not view the possible scenario as an empty threat given that China, as an authoritarian state, is less beholden to domestic politics than the U.S., Catechis said.

Not Trump's rhetoric
Fact
See if you can follow..
China pays very low tariff to the US for imported goods
The US pays more tariff to China on Chinese imported goods
That is about most simplistic way it can be put

This is a "leveling" of the field the Clinton Admin should have done back in the day.
Or , any other President since.
And it is not just China. Canada , Mexico , and others

China will crumple and break like a $5 dollar Chinese beach chair given time

I understand the main point of your thread; you keep reiterating it so its hard to miss. I was hoping how ever that you (or someone else) would bring the thought further than just the immediate gloating and statements of the obvious.
