Wow, different cultures I guess, I've never been offended or pissed off with someone for trying to get a better deal out of me.
And you even seem angry enough to use insults over it! Wow, genuinely shocked, angry for chasing the best deal you can? You must hate the Potus.
Smh at your angry and insulted indignation over respectfully suggesting a deal.
Seems totally strange to me, this was an innocent thread yet still you got angry.
Crazy world.

Sorry mate, didn't understand the joke, or relevance to being offended when someone makes an offer for goods which are lower than the asking price.
That is total snowflake issues if that offends you 😂

Dude. I know it's hard for you to make the distinction. Your posts indicate you have problems learning how to read.

But there is a difference between a reasonable offer in the name of haggling, and the kind of offer that is a clear jest like the one cited in my example.

You, as a person, seem incapable of making that distinction.

Make a lower offer that is reasonable. Great!

Make the clear buttslam offer of a clown, then you deserve to get ridiculed and thrown to the ditch.

Really though. Enjoy your hobo society, I wish you the best.

Wow you seem really unfriendly, I have no idea why you seem like that, I was only sharing a story about getting doughnuts off a trader for a good deal between humans, but now I'm a hobo?
Sheesh dude, sorry your day has been so obviously bad for you.

I hope your friendliness is not typical of ATS, because I'd prefer the facebook experience over your unfriendly attitude.

Yep you can dish it out, but you can't take it yourself while hiding behind your passive-aggressive jibes.

Thus ends my participation in this thread.

I haven't been unfriendly to you though.
I was looking forward to an innocent chat about humans striking personal deals with each other instead of corporate style where people are not negotiating with their 0an money.
Really disappointed, but thanks for enlightening me to the situation you apparently have in your country where asking about a deal is an insult.
I totally don't get it.
Why you have disrespected me I have no idea, I haven't disrespected you.

Ill walk away, disappointed, thought I was just starting an interesting chat, sorry the way business works here makes you so angry and unfriendly.

I see your edit, passive aggressive jibes??? Where? I was just having a chat about striking deals as one human to another.
I totally meant what I said about your president, he'd probably agree with me, that wasn't unfriendliness just an honest observation.
He's gonna screw the best out of us for a trade deal and as a fellow human loving my own people equally the same, I completely get his stance. I'm not insulted or angry or hurt, its just business.
Thanks for ruining a nice human interaction chat thread...not.

On the topic of people haggling deals, I'm currently selling something which if you Google the thing it is one of less than 10 for sale online at the moment.
I'm asking more than market value, but the value it has to me. I've had offers for weeks, one guy I think actually has multiple email accounts lol, desperate because the 40 year old thing just isn't made by anyone anymore.

I'm more than happy when people ring making offers which I refuse, that's business, one day I might be really skint and take a lower price lol, no insults though, just honest haggling.
I've sold things for much lower than their market value many times before now, but was never grumpy at someone for trying to get their best deal out of me...business is all 😂

Gosh, I never realised haggling was such a dirty word to Americans! Responses so far are like a corporate regional managers wet dream! 😂
...I'll take the flaming, but sounds to me like you don't like doing deals lol

Edit, his Trumpness would be disappointed, I may tweet him about this later 😂

New account and the same b.s out of you.

You always look for ways to pick fights with the American members.

Lol, guess we will see a new name soon.🤣

I never had to do that in my entire life, as far as i can remember, but my mom may have to in her first years of living alone :S

Honestly i would go red in the face if i had to ask for a lower price, i rather not have it at all if i can't really afford it :/

Also i mostly buy stuff from family owned stores as opposed to big department stores malls and stuff like that, when possible, so i feel like if i try to get a lower price i'm making their life harder just because i want to save a few dollars or whatever. But usually if i get several items at once i still get a discount so it makes it a nice thing to buy from small stores like that, so usually i just save until i actually can afford the things i want

I can see cases where you actually need to look for a cheaper deal but if that's the case then probably you are buying at the wrong store to begin with? Like why you need those expensive shoes you can't afford? Go buy something you actually can afford or deal with saving for another week or so then go buy them once you have enough money saved?

I don't know, maybe i'm just not looking at this from the right side of things
