OMG there is going to be a Dark Crystal series

My internal 6 year old is going nuts.
As a child this was my favourite movie, I must have watched it so many times that the Betamax video probably wore away to nothing.

It’s going to be a new Netflix series starting on August 30th and being the glutton for punishment that I am I’m quietly optimistic they wont feck it up and ruin my childhood memories.

For those under 30, the Dark Crystal is an awesome Jim Henson sci-fi puppet movie that if you haven’t seen most likely means your parents didn’t love you and Betamax was a thing we watched movies on before we had before DVD’s

I heard about this.
The movie was pretty much a box office flop but has a cult following. Wonder if that will be enough to gain an audience.

I liked it as a kid so we shall see.

Yeah it’s Netflix which scares me a bit but as long as it’s a decent successor I’m willing to tolerate some subtle SJW nonsense.

I can’t figure out if it’s a prequel or sequel though, in the original the combining at the end says there shouldn’t be skekziez but it has Kira, fizzgig and also Jen and they met for the first time in the original?

I think it's a prequel, I remember reading that somewhere awhile ago.

I would have preferred a much older prequel, one showing “the split”.
This one appears to be just before the genocide.
Trying not to include any spoilers from the first one so please excuse me being a bit cryptic

Have you seen any Netflix shows? They lay it on a bit thick at times

I know how to be a good person and I don’t need multi billion dollar companies virtue signalling at me or trying to teach me morals.
They need to stick to making quality entertainment without shoving how capable women are or how normal and acceptable it is to be gay or how POC are just like me because I already know these things and quite frankly it’s getting real old real fast.
Not everything needs to politicised

If they stick to the feel of the original movie I’m sure I’ll love it.

Tom Cruise as an elf is still hilarious.

Great movie, awesome artwork and puppetry design.

When it was on tape, my primary school showed it to us all in the gym. Most of the 6-8 year olds left screaming and crying! Those were the days when we laughed at the weak and parents didn't sue!

(I was about 10, and still cant watch ppl take out glass eyes, leave me alone.
