The Devil is God - the bible's pictograph "Aleph" is THE 2 Horned Devil, and means "THE God"

People were more religious centuries ago than some are today, and some monks were very worried about this calendar error, it shocked them that people were going to church when in reality it wasn't a real Sunday, but mostly they worried how this effected Easter.
The Venerable Bede in the 8th century sent letters to the Pope urging Calendar reform as did Roger Bacon in the 12th Century, please scroll down link under "Background":-

It was strange that the Popes waited for over 1600 years to put in place Calendar reform, but perhaps they were waiting for the Sirius alignment on January 1st at midnight.
When they did change the calendar, they only took the days out up to the First Council of Nicaea, so didn't go back to the genesis of the Calendar on 1st January 0045 BC.
If they had done this then the Spring Equinox would have been 25th March, but more importantly, the Winter Solstice, so important to ancient pagans, would have fallen on 25th December, and was falling on that date during the time of Jesus!

This does have auspicious implications regarding the early church transplanting the date of the Winter Solstice and pagan ceremonies with Jesus Christ's birthday.
You must know how the Winter Solstice was used for pagan ceremonies Manymasks, indeed to the North of you, you have Maeshowe, several thousand years old and a tomb, ancient Greek day marker used being sunset previous to date of Winter Solstice, where through the doorway the setting Sun shines, illuminating the inner chamber.

Before 1752, England followed the Julian Calendar, and used the ancient date of the Spring Equinox being 25th March as New Year called Ladies Day, it is still used with the end of the financial year when the self employed pay tax.
Obviously after calendar reform this date changed to early April.

The other date of interest is 6th January, being Epiphany, when the Three Wise Men arrived in Bethlehem, if it is true they were probably following the star Sirius, as when the Sun set, Sirius was rising in Bethlehem, i have written about this near to the bottom of page below, please scroll down:-

Wow Skara Brae completely forgot about that, just checked there and realised I've watched a documentary about it, so cool thanks.
