Got talking to my wifes grandfather last night he was talking about how he was stationed in Albequerqe (spelling I know) I asked him where he was stationed. He said the name of the base but with his southern accent I didnt fully understand him. I believe it began with an M. I asked what they did there he said he had no idea he was an air force MP. He did say that it had to be highly secret as in order to even get there you had to go through Sandia first. This base was apparently in the mountains behind sandia national labs as it is called now. Also he said at th time between 1960 to 65 there were 1200 people stationed or working there and 950 were MPs that were authorised to shoot on site. No websearches have produced anything. Anyone have an idea I dont want to wait to see him again to ask.

Maybe where he was stationed would be a start? Then we could do a search!

It dosent take me many clues to get a juicy search beginning. So to start off I am not going to show any special interest to this case, yet my favorite conspiracy of Dulce, NM. This has long time haunted my searches for a truth. Yet we are told that there are many bases amongst the deserts of New Mexico, and the base you may be refering too, could be no exclusion.

NEW MEXICO, ALBUQUERQUE - Manzano mountain, or the Kirtland [AFB] Munitions Storage Complex, was excavated by the Air Force to serve as a nuclear weapons storage area. The mountain is visible a couple of miles south of I-40 on the eastern outskirts of Albuquerque. Security is extremely tight. Also, reports of grey aliens operating within some of the deeper levels. A 285,000 sq. ft. underground extension facility was constructed in the same area in 1989, although heavy secrecy surrounds these facilities. source: UFO Magazine, Vol.7, No.6; Richard Sauder; Manzano Mountain & Kirtland AFB

the name of the base is monzano, for the monzano mountains where it is located. It was built as an underground nuclear shelter but abandoned (currently used for document storage I believe) aftert he russians tested a large enough nuke to crack the base. It is now just a part of Kirtland AFB where sandia national labs is at

Yep I got to talk to him today he was stationed at manzano base between 1957 and 1960 they stored nuclear weapons and triggers there. The weapons were trucked by escort to Kirtland AFB to be loaded on to transports to bases in TX NM and los alamos. He said at the time manzano base was so secret it was considered NSB..no such base. He said if he was ever questioned about what they did at MB his reply always was "Have you ever heard of those flying saucers...well they make the cups that go with them. there is no such place." Whats kinda scarey is that nuclear triggers were transported on a school type bus to the aircraft in a 10 escort convoy. .50s front and rear, all other veichles had .30s on them and one was loaded with shoulder fired rocket launchers. He was an Air Force MP with what he called Q clearance to allow him most anywhere on base as he escorted the Bombs and triggers off the base into Sandia and Kirtland. At the time Sandia was a joint forces military base not a national labratory.
