To be honest from DC southward to the North Carolina border there are hundreds of forts, bases, training centers, military installations and the hardware that goes with it, air craft carriers, planes, submarines, fighter jets etc...
The targets are here 24/7 365.

I am surrounded my military bases including some historical ones and I am only a few hours south of DC.
So to your thinking, am I safe or am I a target?

TBH those tanks haven't been armed in a good many years. They came out of museums where they are on display next to the cannons.

Now think your conspiracy thoughts thru. What good would a tank do against groups of armed terrorists mixed in with hundreds of thousands of tourists celebrating the festivities ?

Would they just fire off salvos into the crowd in the Hope's of hitting the group of terrorists? Would they just go all Chinese and drive over all the tourist to reach a group of terrorists? What you are proposing is not a conspiracy but what we would call a stretch

Tanks? Of course, brilliant idea, everybody knows that if you've got crowd of innocent friendlies and agents of terror plan on attacking those crowds, it's a tank you need. What better weapon to target a single insurgent, milling about among American families with needle like accuracy?
