Egypt's ousted president Morsi dies in court during trial

Egypt's first democratically elected president, Islamist leader Mohammed Morsi, who was ousted by the military in 2013 after a year in office, collapsed in court while on trial Monday and died, state TV and his family said.

The 67-year-old Morsi had just addressed the court, speaking from the glass cage he is kept in during sessions and warning that he had "many secrets" he could reveal, a judicial official said. A few minutes afterward, he collapsed in the cage, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the press.

In his final comments, he continued to insist he was Egypt's legitimate president, demanding a special tribunal, one of his defense lawyers, Kamel Madour told the Associated Press. State TV said Morsi died before he could be taken to the hospital.

So the guy says he has secrets that he could reveal and moments later he's dead. How was Obama wrapped up in this whole thing again? Didn't he allow the Muslim Brotherhood to oust Morsi then take over? Then very quickly after, Egypts military took back control?

Early life and education
Mohamed Morsi was born in the Sharqia Governorate, in northern Egypt, of modest provincial origin, in the village of El Adwah, north of Cairo, on 8 August 1951.[24] His father was a farmer and his mother a housewife.[24] He is the eldest of five brothers, and told journalists that he remembers being taken to school on the back of a donkey.[25] In the late 1960s, he moved to Cairo to study at Cairo University, and earned a BA in engineering with high honors in 1975. He fulfilled his military service in the Egyptian Army from 1975 to 1976, serving in the chemical warfare unit. He then resumed his studies at Cairo University and earned an MS in metallurgical engineering in 1978.[26][27] After completing his master's degree, Morsi earned a government scholarship that enabled him to study in the United States. He received a PhD in materials science from the University of Southern California in 1982 with his dissertation "High-Temperature Electrical Conductivity and Defect Structure of Donor-Doped Al2O3".[28][29]

Academic and engineering career
While living in the United States, Morsi became an assistant professor at California State University, Northridge from 1982 to 1985. Morsi, an expert on precision metal surfaces, also worked with NASA in the early 1980s, helping to develop Space Shuttle engines.[30][31]

In 1985, Morsi quit his job at CSUN and returned to Egypt, becoming a professor at Zagazig University, where he was appointed head of the engineering department. Morsi was a lecturer at Zagazig University's engineering department until 2010.[31]

There are far easier ways to kill people. My guess is that his body will be cremated in some way that coincides with some religious belief they will claim he had. Maybe flown out over the ocean and dropped in before an autopsy can be performed.

Was it bulletproof for his protection?

Or is Egypt just weird?

On topic, the timing is certainly suspicious.

On one hand, could just be stress and the old heart gave out...

Or it was a public "offing" as a warning to anyone in his circle to keep their damn mouths shut?

These things do cause heart attacks though. I knew of a drug dealer that had a heart attack when his house was raided. A Judge in New York had a heart attack on the bench a couple of days ago and died as well.

Thank You. Love how people here are waxing poetic over a Muslim Brotherhood Leader in the biggest nation in the Arab world.

Was one of the biggest blunders of Obama's Foreign Policy, which is saying a lot. So many to choose from.

If he caused a dramatic scene being defiant, saying he was going to reveal secrets and then fell dead..

I'd have to go with self poisoning but in a more.. honorable way, I guess? Not like "Here's the poison, watch me drink it on camera for people to watch over and over".

As far as him being elected because of the "change" Obama brought with his well worded, inspirational speeches from an American president to the Muslim world, I could care less at this point as most others probably could either.

Beating Obama and Clinton's dead horses are very enjoyable here and many will agree, even join in to get their hits in. It's fun to do for a long time until you get bored of it but overall it's an ugly eyesore for ex-dead horse beaters who've given up the habit, like smoking or drinking.

If I were a Trump hating liberal, after his administration it might be entertaining to participate in that but in the end, it's still kicking up dirt about someone from the past that's never coming back. Although, I do remember people demonizing Bush for some years after he was done. but not so much now. There's newer ex-Presidents and failed candidates who are never coming back to place blame on and make fun of.

At a time though, Bush Jr. was surely the Antichrist and then Obama was afterward. His campaign slogan "Yes we can" is even Hail Satan backwards. Then there was the pictures of him with prophetically apocalyptic paintings at an airport, Denver I believe. He had the Islamic gold ring and created ISIS.
