Problems with quoting posts

I am having problems quoting posts... I go to quote the post and it doesn't show up in the reply box. Is this common? Is there a way to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I can only post text.

I lost the ability to post a picture a year ago.

It’s hard to make a decent thread without a few pics.

So, I pretty much quit making threads.

I am having the qoute issue as well. I thought I may have made a mistake with the click as I am on mobile but this seems more common.

Sometimes it's just a delay. The text eventually appears.

It's ok. Post quoting is overrated. Not to mention, it's the debbal.

Besides, it not all that fun reading a quoted wall of OP in someone else's response, which often happens. We seldom take from the OP of what we wish to respond to. We just quote the whole bloody thing. That makes threads a hell of a lot bigger than they should be.

You can do it anytime. But, as others have said, near the bottom of the hour, the site slows down a lot. Do a quote at that time, just wait and be patient. I often have several ATS threads open in different tabs in the browser and read one while the other loads.

The same problem happens when you try to "star" a post. It can take several seconds for it to actually happen at half-past the hour.

I've had the same problem using Google. Have to switch to the slow as snales Explorer whenever I post or download photos.

I use an IPad.

I used to be able to have complete functionality.

Now, only text. I can’t download either.

Very frustrating...

You're lucky if it's just quoting posts you're having trouble with. New users get restrictions everywhere!!

From what I have seen that happens at those times the site gets slow, and it looks like, for some reason, the code for quoting and staring posts contacts the server before doing whatever action it needs to do on the user's browser, so it takes a long time during those slow periods.

If you wait it will work.

If you are responding to the whole post, yes, it's better to just use the "reply" option instead of the "quote". If anyone wants to know what you are responding to they just have to click the link that is automatically added to your post.

When you are only responding to part of the post, to make it clearer. At least that's how I do it.

Nah, reply how you want. I'm just saying that it's crazy to reply with the whole OP quoted. Some people have really long posts from time to time. I do the same. When someone quotes the whole thing and not just the part they're responding to, it's a pain to figure out just what they're responding to.

Advice wise... Hit reply instead of quote and then use the quote option above to quote what part you're responding to. If you are responding to the whole post, no point in quoting anything, just respond by hitting reply. They will see you're talking to them
