Ah, Mosaic Law ... not the rules of Christianity exactly. One of the things that so put Christ out was how they lived the letter of the law and not the spirit. Christ came to live that law because no one else could.

So what good is a law or way of living if only a demigod can accomplish it?

Plenty good. None of us is perfect at anything we do in life. All any of us may do is seek toward perfection and attempt to get better.

Every time I ask someone to explain "real" socialism, no one answers. So my only conclusion is that there is no other example than the authoritarian regimes like Venezuela, the USSR, North Korea, China, etc.

This is the same experience I've had time and time again... the rebuttal is always the same: "that isn't/wasn't real socialism", and yet the same individuals will blame capitalism for problems.

If we are to be honest, the supporters of Capitalism say that what we have in this country, or any country in the world is not real capitalism either. We are never quite there. I think the biggest roadblock between all isms in the books and real life is humans.

They all want intervention in the system to benefit themselves and 0 intervention for everyone else.

socialism never fixes anything though, it only drives out the wealth creators and makes everyone equally poor, socialism is just spoiled people being selfish because capitalism isn't perfect and making everyone rich and successful, just a way to push all the blame for their bad decision making onto the system. they only realize the mistake after they get what they wanted and nothing really changes except them getting paid less, taxes being a lot higher and facing all kinds unreasonable restrictions.

If you are talking about on the level of the economy of the entire country? No, it isn't wholly free market capitalism.

But at it's base, capitalism is simply the free exchange of goods and services. It exists even in systems where it's been outlawed.

Anything to address wealth inequality in this country is a good thing:

How strong can the country be if there are not enough good paying jobs and everyone is in so much in debt??????????

Prevent illegal immigration and visa overstays, watch these companies panic for workers and start enticing them with higher pay. Oh, and stop telling people that college is the only choice for a decent career. Some professors don't deserve their jobs.

Not likely.
If the cheap labor express loses their source of domestic cheap labor, they will relocate to Vietnam since we have tariffs on China.

I agree we should put an end to all illegal immigration, enforce E-Verify Nationwide and we should place tariffs on all slave labor countries, Deal?

I couldn’t have said it better... thanks for laying it out so clearly. Great post

The free exchange of goods and services implies all players have a voice and are free to organize as well.
Our trading partners have banned workers the voice to organize so that means even at its base we do not have capitalism.

Ask the countries workers we trade with if they would like to organize for better pay and working conditions if we allowed them to?

The state controls them and as we have learned in this country, if the government is meddling in the process, it is not capitalism.

Americans are being forced to compete with workers in other countries that have Communism in their system where workers rights and voices are banned.

NOPE! NO THANK YOU! ASOLUTELY NOT! NO WAY IN HELL. You really don't seem to understand. For example: My son spent the last two years in a library at university studying to be a doctor. He has no college fun or dates. No time to do anything but study. He beats the Asian kids to the best desks. He has worked at three free clinics in the summers, for free, he worked all last school year for free, at the free clinic on Fridays. He is the dirt poorest college student you ever did see. With loans already. He also worked twenty hours a week in the summers at a grocery store, and doing yard work type jobs. This summer he is a philbotamist ( a person who collects plasma), and is doing intern work for the University on finding a new process to eliminate co2 from a product used all over this planet. Do you really think the people who gave their lives to medicine and developing new products, procedures, and drugs want to give it to you for free? Isn't that rather selfish for you to negate the work of others? Considering what massive work, and the things they gave up for nine years of their lives, for you and others to use them like slaves. GET REAL. Socialism is evil towards the people who do the work.

It's interesting but sad to watch all the nonsense seen about America going socialist. Why? Because there are no candidates remotely pushing for America to become a socialist state. It shows either an lack of critical thinking skills on the part of many Americans or utter ignorance. For example, Bernie Sanders is a democratic socialist. What this means in practical purposes is that Bernie wants to socialize things like healthcare and higher education, that which benefits ALL Americans rather than just the one percent. At no point is he pushing for the state to own all production within America. These kind of programs would be socialist because they are managed for the benefit of all Americans as a right so everybody has equal access to the same services. We already have programs like this, public education, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, fire and police safety, military, public highway system, etc. IOW, there would be no difference in how America functions at all but that everybody would have access to services that many cannot afford today. Everybody benefits from these kinds of programs. You. Your family. Your friends. Your community. Your country. Me. Everybody. Get it? This is not socialism. They are programs that expand upon Roosevelt's New Deal, that which created the largest and most prosperous middle class in our history.

We can agree that you either are you aren't, but where we disagree is on what the actual teachings mean.

How can we care for our poor brothers and sisters if we all give up everything and become poor ourselves? Are we then to rely on the non-Christian to care for us as they will be the only ones with nothing? How are we to prosper as Christians if we never have anything unto ourselves that can be used to make ourselves prosperous out of which we might generate more to give with?

These are the questions you never answer. Charity is not a communal act, but a personal one. Socialism is strictly communal leaving no room for the personal.

It's not me you are disagreeing with its the Apostle Simeon called Peter whom got his understanding straight from the mouth of the Christ himself.

In socialized medicine, there is no cost for college and medical school, and kids receive a salary in some of the countries while they go to school for something like a doctor.

Hopefully your kid turns out to be a good doctor, one that does not feel like he is better than others, like half the doctors I have known over the years. There are good doctors, and there are those who will just parrot what they have learned and do not have an open mind to listen to people who have side effects to the meds he prescribes.

Half the doctors I know said it would be great if we got socialized medicine, they get paid if they have patients or not, they do not have to try to convince people to come in when they are not sick just for a checkup because the state pays the employees and other specialists. I know three doctors I asked, all three said the same thing. Although the ones I know are just working for the hospitals as salaried employees.

There is a lot of stress being a doctor. They also have to act like pillars of society and usually live in high cost neighborhoods here, so their extra money really does not go farther. Plus their insurance costs are through the roof and the cost of keeping an office keeps them broke.

I was supposed to be a doctor, did two years of pre-med before finding how corrupt it was getting. That was back in the early seventies, now I have spent almost ten years studying on my own since I cannot work anymore. Finishing what I started and gave up on back then. I love hacking pharmacology and figuring out how to keep from needing meds.

I don't really know US politics at least not from the perspective of a US citizen but we went down the route of changing form Student tuition fee's being paid by our government and hard up student's being eligible for small maintenance grant's to student loan's for which many financial institutions were lining up and rubbing there grubby hand's together seeing a new market being born they could exploit.
The result is a generation of young people in debt.

When a country pay's for it's student's it is making an investment in it's future by investing in there future, this can work a treat but it can if the country then foul's it up and there are no job's for these new professionals as they then migrate to the nation's that have not invested in there student's but are only too willing to take other people's experts and qualified specialists - in fact the US was the biggest leech of this kind in the world when during the brain drain years the best of our talent paid for by our tax payers money then up staked and moved to the US (mostly though a lot did head to Aus, Canada and NZ).

But now that pool of external expertise has dried up what will your nation do in the future to ensure those with the necessary skill's to fill those roles and keep your industry running efficiently are available, the only solution would be for your government to do more to help it's student's even to the point of paying for there tuition and giving them enough to live on while they study especially if they can not find part time work to help fund there education.
