I am sure viewer and member responce will be greater with this form of advertising. The Ad Council ads are great, and I promise to support ATS by clicking on these clean and appropiate ads. I encourage all other members and lurkers to do the same! Support ATS and change, click on an Ad Council Ad today!

Logged-in members receive "ad network priority" when using the site. This means the following:

1) You see far fewer ads than guests

2) You are given pop-ups (the pop-ups we use are only once a day)

3) The majority of the ads you see are form our new premium network provider, which will be of much higher quality.

The AdCouncil ads will still be around, but as our new network specifically sells space on ATS to advertisers who want to be here, you'll begin to see different ads in those spaces. When they have no ads specific to ATS to send us, we get the AdCounil pieces which are more in-line with many of our core ideals here at ATS.

I don't like paying for access and I wouldn't like it if ATS folded so I don't have a problem with the Ads.

Between the combination of new networks we're working with, we now are working with both models. We're also moving toward negotiating ad contracts where the advertiser pays no money, but provides merchandise that can be awarded to members through contests and sweepstakes (more on this later).

How else would we pay for all this? Our expenses are well-beyond the point where member contributions could pay the costs.

Again, Skeptic, my compliments. The new ads are much easier on the eyes. Also, thanks for looking out for the kids here- this comment should be placed in the other thread, but...online predators ought to be shot.
Support ATS- click on an ad today.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I like these new ads too. I click on the Save the Children one every chance I get, but I do more than that there, hopefully others might do the same.
