Howard Zinn was a self-described anarchist, communist and socialist who made it to the FBI’s high risk category.

Vehemently anti-American,Anti-capitalism with absolutely no objectivity.

In 1980 he wrote a book called “A People’s History of The United States”

Like the biased hack he was he laid nuggets of truth to lend credibility to his warped version of history. His omissions to the narrative were sickening. The Gettysburg address not to be found. “ mr. Gorbachev tear down that wall” nope. George Washington‘s farewell speech not a whisper. Anything good about America was left out. America was evil is the spin he put on history . Which touched every liberal teachers heart and programmed every child that was taught from it.

Mao Zedong who killed 45 million people wad the closest thing ever to a peoples government. He supported Joseph Stalin who killed by some accounts 100 million people.

Revolution is good to overthrow the capitalist. Armed resistance is expectable.

I could see where The bad side of history needed to be taught. But it read like a novel and was a direct assault at the history we know. Only the bad none of the good.

The revolutionary war wasn’t fought for independence. It was fought to enrich certain individuals and impose a totalitarian regime.

Uncooperative Facts & Convenient Omissions
When fact and theory clash, the ideologue chooses theory. Time and again, A People’s History of the United States distorts or simply ignores the truth to make the facts, or the alleged facts, or the invented facts, fit the theory that justifies his “social aims.”
Zinn claims that “George Washington was the richest man in America.” He wasn’t, but it makes for a good Marxist tale. George Washington certainly rose to accumulate great wealth in his lifetime—even if he was chronically cash-poor. (For example, he had to borrow money to travel to New York upon his election to the presidency.) It is generally conceded that Robert Morris was the Founding era’s wealthiest merchant, while Moses Brown, whose family’s name graces an Ivy League university, was another Washington contemporary whose wealth exceeded his.

Predictably the lying SOB took a shot at Reagan. The Liberals most hated enemy until Trump.

Unemployment grew in the Reagan years,” Zinn claims. Statistics show otherwise. Reagan inherited an unemployment rate of 7.5 percent in his first month in office. By January of 1989, the rate had declined to 5.4 percent. Had the Reagan presidency ended in 1982 when unemployment rates exceeded 10 percent, Zinn would have a point. But for the remainder of Reagan’s presidency, unemployment declined precipitously.

In the conclusion he was at least honest and admitted his version was a biased account. But guess what his motivation was to be famous.

“I wanted my writing of history and my teaching of history to be a part of social struggle,” Zinn remarks in an interview conducted long after the release of A People’s History of the United States. “I wanted to be a part of history and not just a recorder and teacher of history. So that kind of attitude towards history, history itself as a political act, has always informed my writing and my teaching.” Indeed it has. Only let’s not call it history. Howard Zinn is a master of cheap Marxist propaganda. His book is a dagger aimed at the heart the country that has given him more freedom than most of the writers who have ever written and made him a millionaire in the process.

The Zinn educational project is making sure his one-sided version of history is taught to middle school and highschoolers. It’s not a mandatory textbook but the Liberals teachers are eating it up.

Im against bias history, which aims at both liberal and conservative ideals. From what you wrote, he seems incredibly bias. However, there is also the bias of holding up founding father's to infallible standards.

I agree with you though. Throwing out all positives of America's past b/c of bad deeds is unproductive and even dangerous.

I believe we have to take a neutral stance in history. When i was in school, America was promoted as the very best and easily grazed across American atrocities as they probably still do in some ways. It certainly doesn't help to go in the opposite direction and wallow in America's bad deeds.

I sense the years and years of total ignorance of real American history promoted an awakening and in that awakening people are seduced to take the extreme.

Not a lack of 'objectivity' but clearly defined as a 'people's history' not the 'State Line'. Ala - the victors write the narrative.

Howard Zinn is dead but his book lives on in the hands of liberal editors . This is from the latest edition and that edition is gaining steam to be added to the curriculum of highschoolers .













The programming of our children through lies and misrepresentations can’t be any clearer now . Kids believe their teachers over their parents for the most part. When you try to correct something they look at you’ve like you got three heads .

Those are not innocent omissions .

They were both done for political reasons and that bias will affect young minds .

History should be non-biased. That gives the youth the chance to make their own decision. Biased books like this hinder that choice .

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson almost everyone knows they were slave holders from the date of the events .

Both were founding fathers who created our great nation .

Yet they were portrayed as villains .

He attacks everything about our country from the start .

His position that we’ve been enslaved/oppressed since the beginning of our country . ( income equality )’

He does not acknowledge the electoral college ( sound familiar ?) and advocates armed resistance to overthrow oppression .

For him our oppressors came from wealth. No mention of self-made people because that wouldn’t fit his narrative .

If you read the book and about his life. You come to the realization that he hated America and now that hatred has been taught in schools .

The Liberals have taken over the education system. This book helped and will set the course for the future of education

Interesting. Well years of avoiding the negative aspects in American history swung the karma pendulum into the opposing extreme of nation-hating liberals.

I believe duelity plays a large part in our existence. What we are seeing now is just cause and effect of previous opressions and misinformation. (At least in my belief).

And, like i have said, the tendacy is always to switch to the extreme.

Having said that, your post is interesting and i wonder if it will eventually slide into school books. I can't comment much more b/c all i know of Zinn is what you said.

For me it has less to do with the content. But everything to do with the omissions and the self admitted bias because he wants to be remembered in history.

Who wrote the history book you learn from in high school.
