Hinduism and Yoga

Hello,
Hinduism as we know it today is a religion leading right back to God. Although I am born a Christian I find that my point of view about God and the universe is mostly hinduistic while I respect all religions and recognize the wisdom inside them.

Hinduism is one of the oldest religions. Vedas go back to about 50000 BC. They were transported from Antarctica (which was very fertile at that time) to India because of a major polar shift that made Antarctica freeze in a very short time.

Yoga is the name of the most well organised science to unite human conciousness with cosmic. The word itself means "to unite". Yoga is the science of asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, mantras, yantras and many other powerful tools to asencion. Yoga is the key to a healthy body, mind and spirit.

Although of the Buddhic tradition I mention prayer wheels here beacause thet are powerful tools.

Digital prayer wheels are a very handy tool. Everytime the wheel spins it is like you have said the mantra once.

I suggest putting them as an avatar or even better tile the animated gifs on your desktop. This way you have many wheels spinning at the same time.

ive been reading kundalini yoga and although i havent practiced it my kundalini is awake, it is a totaly natural awareness and not paranormal in anyway. after my awakening i was looking for answers and found out about kundalini energy. if anyone is interested in awakening their spirit, i suggest they dont try too hard

well I was born into this world as a Hindu, but I am non practicing Hindu, meaning I believe in the foundation but I don't believe in all the rituals and punditry that happens in Hinduism. I practice hatha yoga, for the physical benefits, I believe and try to live by karmic yoga, (do good, etc) I also practice pranayama which is a difficult process and after 3 years, I am still not where I would like to be on that particular path. I use both mantras and yantras for meditation.

As with all other religions, I believe that Hinduism has been corrupted by man, but I feel the original message and knowledge of the vedas is by far superior to any other religion and for me hinduism comes closest to the truth.

I agree that Hinduism has been corrupted. All religions have. But next to the corruption other religions have suffered (for instance Christianity with the prosecution of gnostics) Hinduism has been kept pure enough to lead to enlightment.

As with every religion, in Hinduism the higher truths are kept for the few. This is not because of any racism of anytime. Simply the common people cannot understand the cosmic laws and the higher truths so religion provides them with a "simpler version" to help their way to ascension towards the knowledge of the higher truths.

Rituals help people participate actively, become energywise and awaken the unconcious mind. It is a sad mistake to reject them. Nature does not move in leaps. We star from the rituals outside (sacrifice of material goods) to go to the ritual inside (sacrifice of the ego). Never let down and keep steady on your practice. I am sure you will suceed.

Have you noticed an increase in number of people who feel this way about their respective religions?
I seem to encounter such thoughts more often lately.
Maybe there is still hope for mankind.

The true spirituality seem to be on the rise... slowly, but constantly.

I myself am Muslim, but I don't practice Islam really, my belief is more spiritual, and it includes some practices, but by far not all.

I've been wondering about this lately. I think that all religions contain parts of Truth.
If we assume that there is such thing as reincarnation, is it possible that some souls have reached a certain point of awareness where they do not need the "rituals" of faith, where they understand whats it all about from the very begining of their lives?
I mean, if we are born over and over again, and if we follow the religious path in every existence ( maybe a different path every time ), there is bound to be some echo of it the next time we reincarnate.

Sorry to drift slightly off topic here, but it is just something I noticed.

That is, because pure spirituality, and Sanata Dharma is the closest to pure spirituality of all religions in the world, is the true religion and it is empowering, it fills you with knowledge and it completes you, and it does not contradict science, it compliments it. To understand quantum physics, the cosmology of the universe and the nature of consciousness, I say, immerse yourself in the Vedas and you learn all. That is what Schrodinger, Bhom and Einstein and others did.

I don't call it Hinduism, because the word Hinduism for me carries a lot of negative and backwards connotations - first of all the word Hindu is not even from the Vedas, rather it was a term used by Persians to identify the people from the Indus. Secondly, Hindusim today is full of rituals, superstitions, dogma and if I may, stupidity. So, I do not recognise this Hinduism. So, I completely understand worldwatcher, when she says she's not a practicing Hindu.

What I recognize is the Vedas, the original knowledge, and I have not understood them so well till recently. I know what they say is the truth, because the truth is recognizable, because the truth makes sense.

To me Christianity does not make sense, nor does Islam or Judaism, because they are a mess. They are full of contradictions, they are quite primitive in their scope, although Islam does actually have some scientific basis, such as the knowledge it contains about the stages of birth of an Embryo, but diluted with it's millitant approach. In Christianity, which is a further mess of so many different schools and testaments, there is the nonsense that god will punish you for not praying to him, but he is all loving, caring and forgiving. Or if a person is baptized or accepts Jesus, he is guaranteed to go to Heaven.

The biggest misfortune is that they did not understand Jesus's message, that he is a son of god, they took it to literally mean that Jesus himself is the son of god, and everyone else are just his creations. Nor, did they understand his message of each of us being special and sovereign and capable of divinity.

These religions were created to control humans, to limit them, to disempower them and to practice ignorance. Hinduism as it exists today, is the same, even Sikhism which based on the Guru's teaching was based on something much more divine.

So, we see, whenever an ascended master incarnates here to teach us, we will always dilute, twist and corrupt their messages to meet our ends.

Now, intelligence_formation(welcome, by the way) was a Christian, worldwatcher was born a Hindu and paperclip was a Muslim. Now, listen to my story. I was an atheist and completely anti-religion, but the beauty of spirituality is, that even an atheist can connect with it, and when he does, he begins to understand that god is not separate from him, but a part of him. Do you know Friedrich Nietzsche, the most celeberated extreme atheist and philosopher of western history, who said "god is dead" and "religion is stupid" really loved the Vedas and is on record saying this

He found in the Manusmriti one of the source of his own philosophy of superman. The Laws of Manu have been hailed by Friedrich Nietzsche, as ' a work which is spirited and superior by comparision."

So, this is how an extreme atheist like Nietzsche, like all of us, can recognise knowledge. In fact, we should go one better, and teach Vedic knowledge in our schools and colleges, because that is what they lack right now, knowledge about life and the universe.


I have a question for you Intelligence_formantion, where did you hear that the vedas were transported to India 52,000 years ago?

M. Tilak has presented this theory first in his book "The Arctic house of Vedas" first printed in 1903 and reprinted in 1952 and 1956 in Puna of India. In this book Tilak supports that the Vedas had to leave their home at the pole because of the coming of ice age.

Since the north pole does not have big dry land areas, Hapgood supports that Vedas came from Antarctica, since the journey from there to the south coast of India must have been relatively easy.

Hapgood explains:
"In my book The path of the pole I have shown with the radioactive carbon method and by other means that this ice age has started at least 50000 before and that of course shows how old are the Vedas"

The ice that covers the poles today was created, according to Hapgood, 15000 to 10000 years ago, since the maps aged before this time show Antrarctica free from snow and navigational.

The vedic civilization, like the one of Atlantis obviously came from an even older society but because of the serious topographic changes in our planet, research in places covered with ice are limited.

Maybe we should wait until the next axis move when the poles will again change place (I believe this is very near by) to solve the mystery.
