a quote from a song nobody posted because
You posted that song yourself. No Doubt Don't Speak.

A man once heard of a wise monk who lived on a mountain.
He searched for many years to find him.
Finally after climbing many mountains,
there he was.
"Wise master" he said, "Please train me to be a monk."
The monk replied. "I am alone here."
Then he pointed to the next mountain over. "You go be alone over there."
-----------------------------------------------
From Middle English monk, from Old English munuc, from Medieval Latin, Late Latin monachus, from Ancient Greek μοναχός (monakhós, “single, solitary”), from μόνος (mónos, “alone”).

Some people have different sleep schedules. It was already past my bed time.
The Flower of course:
The Zen master would not have answered. He would have stopped on the side of the road until the next cart passed. Then looked at the apprentice to see if he understood. If not, he would have stayed there as cart after cart passed until the apprentice did understand.
Not like you no, you don't get it. You gave it an agenda and i hate that, no religion please.
Is it possible that you saw an agenda where none existed?
Monk means a loner.
Monastery (a place full of monks) is an oxymoron.
That was the meaning of my little story. "You go be alone over there."
As for the song Monakh, I don't understand Ukrainian or Russian, so I found a crude translation.
Yes, a monk can come in from the cold and remove his cassock.
Once it is all torn up he can't put it back on.
I was going to post a poem that I wrote in 1997 that was actually quite similar to that song.
Too bad the poem had the word priest in it.
I figured if the word monk upset you so much I better just quit the conversation rather than mention the word priest.
Here you go though: An Unfortunate Misunderstanding
Back to nostalgia for a time not lived.
Nope the flower explanation is wrong
Is 'Monk' something people use around you to say "I'm single" or "I broke with my partner" or "I'm a loner"?

I don't know Zen. I was guessing, based on what I would do.

Not at all, nobody I've ever heard talks like that; just me.
It's kind of a personal thing.
People I've lived around think that if a couple breaks up, then the one who gets a new partner first is somehow the winner, and the other one is the loser. But I don't play by those rules.
One of the things about looking at nostalgia in music;
a song written long ago but not listened to then
can be listened to now
as if it was an old favorite.
Can be quite satisfying, you should try it for a bit, gives a completely different perspective to some things in life
Thanks for your reply and not getting mad at my crazy sudden ranting
"If you don't find someone quickly your train will go away, and he will have all the things you planned while you have none of them"
