maybe I am wrong, but didn't avenetti first make contact with niki this last week? and niki went straight to the feds after the first contact. and well, it didn't take long before they had enough on him to nail him. what, something like three days? I think it's really is coincindence that this came down today, unless of course you think avenetti just decided that hey, he'd make trumps day even better by getting himself into deep doo doo now.

Michael Avenatti was charged with wire and bank fraud by federal authorities, CNBC reported on Monday, citing federal authorities.

The charges were filed by the Southern District of New York. Avenatti is accused of trying to extort Nike.

Authorities will be speaking about the charges in Los Angeles later on Monday, the report said.

The announcement of Avenatti's arrest followed shortly after the lawyer, who drew national attention for representing adult film star Stormy Daniels, posted on Twitter that he would be holding a press conference on Tuesday.
