It seems that you missed the important points in my previous statement. CO2 is not a pollutant. It is a basic building block for life on Earth. At
30,000 feet CO2 acts as a coolant, and does not warm the atmosphere. So the majority of the CO2 that airplanes leave in the Stratosphere are cooling
the Stratosphere. It is not warming the Earth.
What's more, since the Earth has been warming starting in the early 1600s, and before the industrial revolution, CO2 has been slowly released into the
atmosphere by nature itself more than normal, not just by mankind.
The cirrus clouds they are making, coupled with the CO2 is causing a heating effect, the CO2 is one of the building blocks of the trails from the jets
which form the clouds. Also, the Nitrous oxide is included in those manmade clouds. The clouds once were thought to cool things by reflecting but it
was found that they actually promote warming instead.
You are focusing on CO2 as a necessary part of our environment, but not looking at the elevation of the jets and what it is doing up there, the CO2
from our cars and power plants usually does not go up there, it usually hangs around and is attracted to trees to free up the oxygen and absorb the
carbon to make the wood.
I never have been convinced that Carbon dioxide in moderation was bad, but we still should not be overloading our atmosphere with it either. Methane
escaping from the fracking sure is a lot worse than carbon dioxide. so is the methane being released from the permafrost where it is warming up in
the north.
If we desire to cut down carbon dioxide and polutants that warm the atmosphere, the first thing we must do is severely cut down air travel and cut way
back on the rockets that they are delivering payloads to space. We do not need to be putting stuff in space, now they are talking about people taking
trips to space just for fun, then they will tax the working man for driving to work and heating their house.
