Just something that I have noticed.

Men are attracted to more masculine women, and women to more effeminate men these days.

I was watching a commercial and there was a man dancing around in dresses and a coat and a swimsuit.
I soon realized it wasn't a man, but a women that looked like one, I think.. Then I watched this youtube star
James Charles. He is about the prettiest man I have ever seen. He is seriously more pretty than most women I know.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, more of a general observation as I get older.
All you old geezer sit down, you know i'm not talking about you! I'm talking about your kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Things
are changing.

Just go to any high school and you will see that genders are getting more and more blurred. Being ultra feminine is
shunned in America. It really is. It seems being ultra masculine is now too.

I wonder if in another couple of decades if everyone will just pretty much look alike.

I know it isn't like this in all parts of the world either. Some place have very strict gender roles.

Not really, at least I find a masculine woman kinda unatractive. At least women actors trying to be masculine. Have never met a woman in real life acting masculine other than a couple dikes I knew long time ago.

Not sure how old you are, but what you think are masculine and what someone older thinks is are two totally different things. It's not just about a woman "acting" masculine, it is everything.
How she speaks, carries herself, grooming, what she wears, he mannerisms. I could go on all day.

Also, of course some people don't fit, but I'm talking generally across society. Take for example, how many American women wear dresses on a regular basis compared to France, or Japan??

No woman I know wants a man who looks and acts like a woman.

No man I know wants a woman who looks and acts like a dude.

Kids in high school haven’t finished developing yet, and commercials and YouTube posers don’t count.

So I really can’t say I agree with you.

James Charles is very beautiful, with make-up, but after he removes the make-up he is actually just a nice looking guy, but with feminine qualities, and his hair is not very masculine.

I got on a kick sometime back where they had Asian girls that were very plain, then they applied make-up and afterwards, there is no way that a person can change that much, but they do.
I have an art background, and there's an old saying (I can't remember it now) about how you can paint an exact likeness of a person's face. Kind of like a pig in lipstick. heheh

Remember, men don't (usually) wear make-up, but when they do, they can look pretty good, as in James Charles's face. He has good model-type bone structure, which when make-up is applied, makes him look HOT! heheh
There are so many of these videos on YouTube that (I know you have seen them) where make-up is such a big thing, it's very entertaining, and, they can make a LOT of money from ads.

Anyway, I do believe that you are kid of right about men and women's reversal, I mean, they are saying that men are toxic, and women are the new heroes, I mean, heroines, I mean, heroes, I don't know what I mean.

The sole fish can change sexes, why not people? I'm kidding, kind of.

As a whole, times have sent it all down the drain, there's nothing about the now that I like anymore, everything is topsy-turvy, and if you aren't, then you aren't included.

Soy boys are the norm, but, I don't know what is causing women to be more masculine, or want to be.

EDIT: I forgot to say, "on an egg"... It should make more sense now.

A real man regardless of how he looks, has no problem dealing in a social/sexual context with masculine or feminine appearing women.

Fashion/culture is strange that way....

Does this mean that females will stop hiding behind a face of lies, makeup?

That would be awesome if true and I would fib all day long to say that butch is the wave of the future, if makeup went the way of the dinosaur.

I think women who don't shave their backs are quite a turn-on.

Not true. There was just a study done on this recently for women and whether they preferred a more masculine or effeminate mate. In every single instance the women in the study picked the more masculine partner every single time.

Don't believe the propaganda. It is merely a form of controlling reproductive behavior in the aim to reduce population. It's like how the bible said go forth and multiply and shunned homosexuality because at the time reproduction was vital to the existence of the human race. Now, the opposite is true so the powers that be are manipulating people into thinking everyone is gay and that a man being a man and a woman being a woman is somehow bad. I didn't fall for the B.S. of the bible and the old religions and I don't fall for the B.S. of the new religion of the state.

I can make informed decisions about my sexuality and how I want to reproduce for myself as an individual. I don't need multi-billion dollar political think-tanks doing my thinking for me.

I'm thinking more of an androgynous look for both. Maybe a little more makeup for men, a little less for women, meeting somewhere in the middle.

damn you, that completely ruined my fantasy. The worst of both worlds.....

grrrrrr

: )

I wonder how much programming would be needed to actually accomplish this brainwashing? There probably have always been the fringe out there but to get this into the majority would be interesting.

What is at the base nature of our biology? What is attraction for males and females on the average? How fast can we rewire our biological instincts?

Why does any of this matter?

Let people look however they want to look. If you (the general you, not specific) don't like it, don't look at them.

Let people like whomever they want, it doesn't affect anyone outside of the two people in question.

For what it's worth, I'm a 35 year old male, and in the pictures JAG provided, I find almost every one of them attractive, except for the 4 ladies in the middle of the right side, because they're not really my type.

Attraction is a completely subjective thing, there's no point in questioning it.

Objectively, the top 3 on the right side are all, in biological terms, attractive. Ignore their beliefs/actions/etc, just looking at their faces/bodies, I'd wager that the vast majority of men would find them physically attractive.
ETA: Whether they're your type or not is a totally different thing. I've never found Tyra Banks, or most runway models for that matter, to be attractive. They look too fake to me.

There are some absolutely beautiful, masculine women. There are some absolutely beautiful, feminine men.

To each their own. If it isn't bothering anyone, who cares?

Go back another 20 years or so to pictures of women in the 1920’s and compare them to the 2020’s.

I think you’ll find that, as the very old song says “Everything Old Is New Again”.

Fashion tends to cycle, as I’m sure you know.

Perhaps we should not care so much about how people choose to look, but focus more on how they choose to express who they are?

What I grew up understanding about men and women no longer apply apparently, no wonder it’s hard to catch a date with a lady these days.

I totally believe this, but at the same time I find it interesting.
Just like I find it interesting that both men and women in egypt wore makeup.

Am I not allowed to wonder with people of ATS if eventually we will all dress like people on Star Trek?
Or that maybe aliens are really super advanced humans that no longer needed gender identification, and maybe
that is where we are headed in the future?

Maybe, I just have more of an imagination than most. If you don't wonder, or care why do you comment?

If your statement is true then I'm out of luck in the boyfriend department, because I love being a woman and I can't even imagine trying to look or be "masculine."

I can see the pretty man thing, how the younger generation are attracted to more effeminate looking men, but I don't see the reverse. I think men will always be attracted and distracted by a sexy feminine woman. That's biological, I don't think that will ever change.
