My cat is not dirty and has no diseases! She sleeps with us and loves
being held and cradled like a baby.I even warm up her wet food in the
morning,no microwave,just hot tap water.

my cat is hard as nails, will take on dogs if they come too close to the house, took on a german shepherd the other week, was on his back biting his neck, dog couldn't do a thing except try to roll her off him. she catches maybe 2 rats a week and leaves tails for me on the kitchen floor, eats the whole body, semi feral but sleeps on my bed at night, she is hungry right now, chasing spiders, will feed her, just love her fighter instinct.

You can wash a dog but have you ever tried to wash a cat?

Dirty disease carrying creatures. It's like damn, I got some fecal matter on me, I'll have to lick that off...

You are doing something wrong....lol...my 20lb Tabby drops the bathtub plug at my feet every 3 days like clockwork...and I give him a bath in the tub....I literally pour 2liter plastic jugs of water over his head in jest and fun...we call it his Jug-Bath and he knows what the words mean....we walk the perimeter of where we live nightly....before we do it he walks over to his COLLAR WITH BELLS ON IT so I can put it on him ...so we put on the Uniform then we walk the perimeters with him in a paced cadence exactly 1 foot off to the side of my right leg....when we return he walks to his box and sits so I can remove his Collar and then we both walk to the tub so he can rinse his dirty feet.

Your cat is a dog.

What breed of cat, Siberian? My one Siberian has really strong Russian genes. He rips apart the vets. They are all scared of him.
standard tabby, only small but a psycho with other cats and dogs, had her 12 years now i think, never been to the vets, even after she turned up with the infected rat bites, washed them myself. She follows me into town, ten minute walk at least then mooches about when i do my shopping lol

You should be cautious about letting your cat consume rats. Unfortunately, poison is commonly used to kill rodents as I'm sure you are aware. Frequently, cats and birds become poisoned, sickened, and die after consuming rodents that have ingested poison.

9kg cat?!!! sorry, had to do the conversion, i don't get imperial/american weights, but I can imagine things in kg, that's just over a third of a bag of cement lol, big cat.

He turned out to be huge, first Tabby I have owned. He was the last Kitten from a litter from a Mother/Family that had been turned into a Local Vet....the Mother was "biter"....so was her little boy, this fella was NOT adopted....to feisty,so they had scheduled the Mom and the rejected Son who was her spitting image for execution....a last call was put out for potential adoptive Friends....enter me.....once I heard the story I was drawn to the little bugger...I was raised on a Farm and had many pets but had never had a "city inside pet"....lol..I drove to the Vet to see what was up and to stop the execution or in my mind persecution.Suffice to say...the general feelings everyone had when I walked in were not looking good, everyone was kind of shaking their heads and schmerking when I asked to see the cute little Kitten they had available..

He had me at the first CHOMP....lol...he waited till I reached down to pet him the he calmly leaned his neck over turned his head and CHOMPED ME on the inside of my meaty thumb part....an acrobatic manouver to say the least...not a hiss not a growl no fluffed tail no squinting eyes....nope...he just calmly chomped me and then LOOKED ME IN THE EYES not even blinking....didn't scratch or scoot away.....he just sat there at attention and looked right up at me fearlessly...the Vet Assistant got me a swab for my nip and went to get his favorite toy so we could get him in a better mood....I WAS ALREADY HEAD OVER HEELS.....she came back with his favorite toy...a RED SHOELACE....and that was it I decided he was coming with me....who in their right mind would give the Son of a Biter a RED SHOELACE TO PLAY WITH.....jeepers the poor sucker got most of Moms bite first ask questions later genes....then to rile him up with a blood colored string before or while ADOPTIVE parents were looking at him....lol...lol...he came home wit me.....the next morning I went back to take the Mom as well but they wouldn't give her to me because the Vet said she would drive him away and due to their strong natures it would be ugly....so I lost her...but saved him.

AT 5 years old I used to lay on my belly for hours on the ground in the springtime sunshine trying to capture wild cats....nail them as they came out to play...bare-handed I would take on the little fire-balls.....lol...my Franky didn't intimidate me one bit....lol...in the Country EVERY MOTHER AND KITTEN IS A BITER....lol.

His profile is within healthy parameters....so he is not a tubby Tabby...just raw boned big....but there was a Ginger/White cat with strikingly green eyes @ that Vets that was the biggest feline Ihave ever seen...almost 4 fingers between his eyes his skull was so big....had to be 35ish-40ish..must have been hybrid vigor because this was a massive cat .

I had a Himilayan once....but nothing like that beast who was the Clinics home Cat.

Since the first day I brought him home Franky has never bitten anyone....not punctured....he has scraped me countless times accidentally....he has taken it thru the first tiny layers of skin in play....but never ever bitten anyone with intent or malice...he is not a biter...but he can be.I trained him to jump to your head and hang on on command...your head not mine, seriously, the odd time he stalks me and tries to get the jump on me but has never leapt on anyone except Family on command when I trained him.

He is a constant tooth sharpener...he hones his teeth constantly on things around the house....he has to have things in his mouth...I let him play bite my sock covered feet...he gets my first 4toes in his mouth entirely...and gnaws on them....while I simulate death throes of a mouse every time he increases and decreases the pressure....I had to let him kill things in his mind from day one....teach him how to control the bite....as a Kitten all he could get into his mouth was one big toe....lol....but as soon as he felt the death throes and felt me reacting to his bite pressure I could stop his pressure where I wanted to using voice tones ....when the mouse stops moving he stops the pressure....wiggle once...he will give you a wee bit more then hold it....talk to him....teach him....and he fulfills the bite need in his gut.....under controlled reward based dynamics.

Cats respond way better to verbals than Dogs or any animal except Swine...which are spooky smart....and Crows also spooky smart with words.

If you raise your cat to be non-verbal....never react to any sounds they make...but react to every motion and need they have....they quickly learn the ropes....and you develop your own sign language with them....once you have that down and they respond to hand signs silently and immediately then YOU can atattch verbals to your hand signs….then words to the verbals. My cat knows how to ask for things....properly....if I name his things he will go sit at attention at each one in sequence….when someone comes walking to our front door he is already at my side with his paw on my leg making head movements and leading eye contact long before they get there.....then when he has my attention he escorts me to the door silently then sits at Intruder attention with fluffed tail. When Strangers come in he watches me for cues and has NEVER backed down or off or away from my side...he is utterly fearless and knows he has back-up...he has NEVER BEEN STRUCK OUT OF PLAY...ever...never been taught to fear anyone...once he hit adulthood it could not weaken him....I taught him to retreat and circle back immediately to attack from a back1/4...intentionally....during playtimes....which is all times....lol...he hits you with his body and bearhugs the back of your calf giving you a big wide fake bite.....lol...and he HOLDS ON DEARLY GROWLING like a bear when he gets you from behind....kicking at him would not be a god idea....his instincts have been tactically managed.....lol....two Vets couldn't corner him in an Office I had to come in and get him for them....yes they had the leather gloves and even a leather blanket they tried cornering and covering him with.....lol...lol..I watched....he SAT AT ATTENTION in a corner totally fearless and aware looking right at them...as soon as they swung the blanket at him he batted it away with one paw....and held his ground....when they leaned in and tried to toss the blanket on him after a few failed tries at fooling him....lol....he reared up from attention with BOTH PAWS and pushed the blanket away then sat down again holding his ground growling like a mad dog....no hisses....just growls...they tried this twice and I asked if they needed help....someone was going to get hurt...lol....so I held him as they pricked and prodded him and he blamed me forever....lol.

I still laugh thinking about the looks on the 2 Vets faces,,,because he out-thought them and they knew it...he didn't do anything they were used to Cats doing.....lol...lol..lol….once they knew he wasn't going to get sucked into fighting them under the blanket that he was not even letting himself get under the blanket....they realised what they were dealing with...and I think his refusal to run and his sitting at direct attn. watching only their eyes freaked them out.

I did everything humanly possible to allow him to express himself and he turned out smarter than any dog I have ever owned....I had simply never put the time into a Cat...no one knows what they are really capable of and how comfortable they are when they are given routine tasks constantly....their memory and internal clocks beat any dogs hands down.

He was a natural fetch player since a Kitten...and he doesn't just bring it back he throws it right in your lap.....lol...no escaping playtime.

My daughter is a 'cat person' but I prefer dogs, so I have lived amidst cats and realize that they have their own personalities.

A biologist friend of mine always used to say "a trained organism, in a controlled environment, can be relied upon to do as it damn well pleases".

My grandparents kept a small colony of feral barncats to keep the rodent population down in and around their outbuildings.

They had one old tough female they called Ol' Black Mama. This was not a racial thing, but a descriptive moniker as that old thing successfully raised a litter every year for the many long years she was around and was black as midnight. She kept shedding body parts while she was at it.

Toward the end she was missing her tail, part of a leg, an ear, was likely blind in at least one eye, and had large chunks of fur that refused to grow in. She still raised her little every year and would be regularly seen bringing in rats as large as she was.

cool stories, thanks for the replies folks

i would love some land and a barn, i would have a full on colony of cats, my friend has land and stables, his cats catch rabbits as well as rats or mice, they are amazing, work like a team, eat the whole thing together as a team.

I have a male Sibberian , Spooky, and 4 girls, Pipper, Greycie, Moppet, and Ligtning. Grew up with cats. They would sleep in my crib and go get my Mum when I woke. Never had to give any of them bathes except Lightning she is elderly and needs the help. She hates the water but loves the results. Also, once had to give Spooky a bath one spring when the pollen was really bad. He is grey and white but he looked yellow. He is 12 and a wonderful hunter we live in a very rural area, not even cell service. He keeps us mouse free, but he seems to have some kind of deal worked out with the squirrels. Not scared of anything except walmart bags. Who can blame him? He's just like any guy. All he want is to go hunting and as long as there is some sort of food when he gets home he doesn't care about anything so long as there isn't any other guy in the house. Girls fine just no guys. Cats I mean. He loves all people. Very social loves to hear how beautiful he is.
