Actually, yes they can. There is enough circumstantial evidence already to support a deeper investigation.

What is "deeper" than a special council investigation?

FBI agent testifies Manafort raid was not a no-knock raid

CNN has posted this exclusive video footage of the predawn arrest Friday of Roger Stone, the longtime Donald Trump ally and 2016 presidential campaign adviser, by FBI agents, including some in riot gear, at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.:

it gets "deeper" than this???

Because it's a waste of time and tax dollars. There are more important things to do, like compromising.

Really, so why did we spend 80 million dollars to impeach Bill Clinton for lying under oath because of an extramarital affair? If I had to compare the two, Trumps scandals directly affect this country and is possibly treasonous (giving aid and comfort to an enemy).

As for compromising, our political system is broken! Both sides do nothing to compromise and pass legislation for the benefit of the people. All they do is bicker and point fingers at each other and Trump is only promoting it! They don't even give 3rd party candidates equal time or allow them into debates. As an independent, I'm not even allowed to vote in the primaries because my political party isn't represented. Even though one of these candidate will end up winning the presidency and I will have to accept their position on the issues. What would be so wrong if the party system was abolished and candidates just ran on the issues! No party labels and they can feel free to take both political sides on an issue instead of being forced to follow their party's platform.

There was some compromising on the wall, but Trump wanted it all or nothing! If he was more competent about how our political system works, he should know our leaders don't act like dictators and just demand want they want. To much power is given to the President in the form of pardons and executive privileges. On the other hand, Congress decides on issues related to themselves which are clearly a conflict of interest (term limits, salaries, pension benefits, and major issues that affect all Americans that can easily be voted by Americans at the voting booth).

You mistake the cost for the starr probe with the cost for impeachment.
Impeachment cost nothing as congress was already there and getting a check.
Ps. he wasn't impeached.

Investigations occur in the private sector on suspicions of corruption, especially when there are witnesses and documents pointing in that direction. Former members and associates of Trump's inner circle have already pleaded guilty or been convicted, so you're just going to ignore that? That's much more than suspicion, lol. Investigations involve connecting the dots and that is exactly what these investigators are doing. What's so hilarious about that? It's the law, and a president or politician has to abide by the law just like every American. Presidents and politicians shouldn't have the power to interfere with investigations, period.

What's sad is Americans like you are ignoring everything just to protect this pompous billionaire who thinks he's above the law and money can buy loyalty from those around him. If you were in Trump's position, I can guarantee you would already be behind bars. I'm quite sure Trump wouldn't come running to your rescue.

Just the protection he's given to tyrannical leaders like the Saudi Prince, Kim Jong Un and Putin should alone bring outrage from all Americans. There's absolutely no excuse for it.

Nadler hates Donald Trump personally. It probably stems from a lawsuit Trump won back many years ago regarding a NY real estate tax exemption.

Nadler and DT are both NYers operating in the same area. Nadler is the typical hate-filled liberal Democrat that despises people like DJT with wealth and business acumen.

Also, Nadler's wife worked in NY city gov't. Here's her bio: www.nyshcr.org...

Joyce L. Miller is the founder and CEO of Tier One Public Strategies, a
consulting firm founded in 2007 which provides in-depth public policy
analysis. At Tier One Public Strategies, Ms. Miller advises early-stage
and middle-market companies in the energy and environmental fields,
including a privately held independent power company that generates one-
fourth of New York City’s electric power;

Try finding info on that consulting firm she set up in 2007, Tier One Public Strategies. Good luck.

No. This is not even a I believe our president thing.

There is no reason for Congress to investigate his family for anything.None. The only reason they are doing it is to put more pressure on him. If you want to carry the SDNY or other local events in the media go for it but there is no reason for our elected officials to be looking into a sitting presidents family. None.

For 2 years we have heard nothing but Russian Collusion. Racist. Homophobe. Mysogyny. Xenophobia. Economy is gonna crash. We can't build an Embassy in Israel. You are bringing us to war and destruction Mr. Trump.

The #resist people, who include politicians current and ex as well as lots of other players were pushing him. Attacked his colleagues and his close friends. They are going at Trump non-stop everyday and he is not bending. I mean can you really tell my a good reason Roger Stone was treated the way he was? No. People just say he likes Trump as if there is a valid reason.

So now they are going after his family to try to show how corrupt they are but....why? If they are so shady why did all of these people take his money and befriend him? I have never in my life ever seen someone so attacked by those who once like him.

Right now Congress wants him to act on ANYTHING so they can yell Obstruction. That is the end game. There is no Russian collusion and they could not get him to perjure himself so new tactic. Squeeze the people you love to get what you want. When he is pushed too far he will act but he is not there yet. Congress has much better things to do than this....

The sad part, is when it is said and done and there was nothing there those kids will STILL have to have been run through the ringer for no reason. Just because they worked with their dad they are treated differently than every other First Family...ever?

I am not ignoring it. All of those people are actually tied back to the Podesta Group. They just happened to work a short time with Trump. It is not like they were old buddies or friends in the least bit.

Who does it go to after Podesta? HRC. Who after her? Obama

When the real dominoes fall it is going to be the biggest political scandal ever. Politicians are all about quick revenge...a businessman scorned? He waits till he can get you with another deal and screw you...and it is coming.

Several investigations have uncovered evidence of wrongdoing by associates of the President. They have implicated the President, not only once from one person.

Perhaps there is a conspiracy against the President by former associates or perhaps there is substance to the allegations. We cannot know until it is investigated.

Surely the very purpose of law enforcement is to investigate crime when there appears to be evidence that a crime has been committed.

Several different investigations, by different bodies investigating different abuses, and which may implicate the President, have been terminated due to the actions of the President. This looks like obstruction of justice.

If Trump has not obstructed justice, then he has nothing to fear.

Nadler has a liberal voting record in the House. He gained national prominence during the impeachment of Bill Clinton, when he described the process as a "partisan railroad job.

Nadler is a tool. Also puts a lot of Real Estate in the his relatives names...

It’s called congressional oversight, the constitutional obligation of the Congress of the United States.

Trump and his cronies and family are so embroiled in shady and illegal activities the Congress has to investigate

But in America, you're supposed to have evidence of a crime, before investigating specific individuals.

Actually, you need 'probable cause' or 'reason to believe'.

True.

But it appears in this case that "probable cause" is "we don't like the way the election turned out".

We are a banana republic now...

You do understand that multiple people have testified under oath that Trump directed them to commit criminal acts, was cognizant of their wrongdoing and has actually attempted to pervert the course of justice in the pursuit of investigations that may potentially incriminate him.

As his alleged accomplices in this include family members, who are legal adults, there is nothing wrong with investigating them - it isn't illegal.

They know this whole Russian Collusion conspiracy is a hoax, and because of that they already know the results of Mueller's SC investigation. They know it will not favor the conspiracy.

They are starting more investigations before Mueller's results are released while the public still buys into the conspiracy and distrusts Trump.

They know it would be difficult to start these investigations after the results are released because the conspiracy would mostly be debunked, showing Trump's innocence, and it would just appear as a blatant attack and illegitimate in the eyes of the public.

If they keep some type of investigation open on Trump, no matter what it is, they know Trump can't touch it or they could get him for obstruction of justice. Since Mueller's investigation is ending soon, they need to start more investigations to keep this hoax alive, and to keep key people in positions of authority to dig for dirt.

Then they can just dig up any dirt they can find, and hang him and his friends on technicalities, and use those findings as talking points and headlines in their next election.

Remember, this is all about what the public thinks.

Trump warned House Democrats that "things" will get released if they do this.

Watch out !! 😎

Here's something - no one cares what Trump says because we've figured out by now that he is lying.

He has been threatening to release information, then he should release it.

To have knowledge and evidence of the commission of a crime and to withhold that information from investigative authorities is obstruction of justice and makes Trump accessory after the fact.

His rhetoric would implicate himself.

Time to arm ourselves with this kind of info, and DEMAND that Nadler recuse himself from any and all investigations of Trump or his family.

I think Nadler's wife may also be a bit "shady" in some of this attempted smearing of DJT. That Tier One Public Strategies company she started in 2007 is awfully shadowy. Hard to find much info on them. I wonder if it got any public funds.
