Allies and mates

That is the title of the book I am currently reading. The author makes some observations about his time with Anzacs in Vietnam.
Diggers were experts in jungle warfare.
Australian equipment was better it was because it was developed for use in the jungle the expection to this was footwear.
Aussie and Kiwi officers had a batman (orderly) the yanks never did this.
American C rations were a lot better then there aussie equivalent however C rations were more bulky.
The Aussies wore "bush hats" instead of helments due to better hearing.
