I don't know if it's been said on this thread or not...but does anyone else find it strange that anytime there's a news story that doesn't fit the democratic narrative there's a counter story like this? You've got the Jessie Smallet story ongoing that bit the left right in the ass; and at the same time here's a looney white guy with guns wanting to kill a bunch of democrats.

I don't have a strong enough pulse on all this, but there was another instance recently if I recall correctly where there was a black-eye story against the left, and a coincidentally timed "we caught a big bad white guy with guns" story. I'm not in a place to research it right now...this weekend perhaps. Maybe it's just the conspiracy theorist in me making something out of nothing.

No, I'd say he has been tracked for some time and his arrest was brought forward in an attempt (unsuccessful) to bury the latest in a long list of liberal fake hate crimes. It didn't work.

Besides, if you want to get upset about extremists targeting politicians we have one of those cases - a crazy Bernie supporter who actually carried out a mass murder attempt of Rebuplican politicians that put Steve Scalise in hospital fighting for his life. Unfortunately the liberal media did not reflect on their incitement of violence and just doubled down. In fact they didn't really seem to care too much.

I find it odd that you wouldn't advocate for preventing attacks, but rather only dealing with the deaths afterwards.

If he had carried out his attacks as he intended and the FBI had done nothing to intercede despite being aware, would you then claim it was a conspiracy to make Trump Supporters look bad since they did not arrest him beforehand?

I am even less of a fan of deflections away from the latest hate crime hoax. The hoaxsters are desperately trying to divide society and create turmoil. If they succeed the result will be a lot more people who feel like doing something about it and even more who talk about doing something about it.

If the route is to start rounding up potential terrorists then I would hope to see a lot more arrests in the coming days.

He was arrested on a federal criminal complaint, which charged him with violations of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(3) (possession of a firearm and ammunition by an unlawful user or addict of controlled substances).

But possession is the ONLY crime he had committed. Lots of people in the USA like to collect illegal guns, or modify legal guns because it makes them feel cool.

This is my problem with the whole story. The whole story is what he fantasized about. They're trying to get the public in an uproar demanding that people not be allowed to fantasize bad things.

Shall we get a list of everyone who purchased Grand Theft Auto V and arrest them?

Their character in the game probably killed a few random pedestrians. Certainly stole a lot of cars. Maybe even blew up a few buildings or carried out a few assassinations. Shot a police officer or two.

Indeed, some of it might even have been (within the game) racially motivated.
