Sorry to be that guy, but you'll never make it.

You're too honest and likely not to pay much lip-service. Open to conspiracies that land at the feet of government and allow yourself to not only listen but understand the other side of the argument.

Doomed to fail.

Although I wish you the best of luck and will continue to support ya here and on the youtoob!

ETA: OH, and most importantly, you don't want other peoples money, especially from corporate interests.

Do you have a history as a bartender?
If so you're in pretty good shape...

I used to be a bartender, for a country club.

I was no stranger to potential congressman and senators.

I've met a few who made it....

I once spoke my mind and made a jaw drop, it was worth it.

I think he could,

But I agree on the too honest part(and likely too intelligent). It's generally not the sort that finds themselves in local politics.

Still, wishing the best. If you do get it I hope it doesn't ruin you(turn to the dark side) or make you jaded.

That would be fun.

"Congressman, here's a drink on the house..."

"Ohh that's very kind of you."

"Not really, I was hoping you'd choke on it...."

Wow! You are accomplished. Congrats! Seriously!!

Thank you I really mean it.

Though honestly being young, I feel that many of my oppnents will have evn more impressive backgrounds.

That is why i will need to show a better undertsanding of issues and ability to communicate with people than them.

Way to go man!

Two questions...

Will you push for term limits?

Why did the last guy quit?

I will be voting for term limits.

I need to do a little more research, but it will basically be 3 or 4 terms in the house, only two in the senate.

That is a possible 20 years in congress, more than enough to advocate for policies you may wish.

Even if I am unsuccessful in getting those limits passed, I will hild myself to that standard, and not run more than those terms. I cant see myself ever running for senate, but who knows.

The last guy tom marino quit to "work in the private sector"

He was in line to be appointed Trumps drug czar. However, it became public that he received over 100 thousand dollars for his campaign from pharmaceutical companies, and he was not appointed.

So he announced his resignation to work in the private sector three days after he won the election, causing the need for another election.

This is one of the reaosons I am refusing to take big business money.

Certainly my integrity will make it hard to win.

It would be much easier to obfuscate difficult issues and pander, but I will not do that.

I know my chances are slim, but I love being an underdog, and will do everything I can to win.

And if I lose, at least I know I treid, and I will have learned a lot.

If you need to drum up support, hand me the drumsticks.

I've read your posts and you remind me a lot of myself-you don't see the light in red or blue, you see the full spectrum. That is what we need, a broader perspective-If I were getting into politics I'd start the common sense party.

Best of luck with your endeavor, and if you ever need a speech writer...let's just say I could sell sand in the Sahara.

Its a serious point.

How many people better than me have gone in with great intentions and then slowly became something they would hate?

That one reason I would limit myself to only a few terms. In addition I will be trying to spend as much time as possible in my district and outside of the bubble of washington. I will be pushing for legislation that utilizes tech more to allow congresspeople to work from district offices and meet digitally when discussing non classified or day to day issues.

I also have the advantage of having a wife that would not hesitate to call me out should I start to become a something I would hate.

Well, corruption is a slower process than most think. It's like water eroding away stone.

It's just a few "small" things here and there, then the next thing you know......

I really think that's why even those with the best of intentions can become swallowed up in the political mechanism.

Funny you say that.

I had the pleasure of bartending a Q&A for local practice owners(docs) and those running for office. Keep in mind, this was the first post Obamacare election.

A prospective senator came to my bar afterwards and asked what I thought of the whole exchange. I told her I didn't expect much change seeing as her campaign was funded by many of the same players as her opponent (health sector wise).

She didn't say anything and walked away, but still tipped well.

I hope you are wrong!

I am a life long resident of this ffffffed up state and I have been driven so far right by the crazy left I consider Grambler a classical liberal.
I don't agree with all of Gramblers ideas but in all honesty, our state needs someone like him instead of the spoon fed aristocracy that has been bred to rule over us!

Like her or hate her.... The smear campaign has already begun for Tulsi Gabbard.(she hates corporate money)

Now it's a shame that a party would take it upon themselves to eat one of their own, and such a gorgeous one I may add....

But it's a point of interest when the world sets their sights on a congressman, seeing as they never land the ticket anyhow.

She's already an Indian nationalist and Putin puppet. Food for thought.
