Long time lurker joining the posse

Greeting everyone - been watching for several years now, but want to chime in time-to-time, especially when I see nonsense being posted. My background briefly: retired military officer; ~5 years with United Nations, principally in conflict zones - Balkans, Africa and MidEast; widely traveled in Europe, where I follow politics closely. Favorite country is France where I lived many years. Keen interest in parapsychology. Principal hobby is reading across many subjects.

I also make at least one trip myself. Off to some old stomping grounds this May/June: Normandy (75th D-Day stuff), Brittany and Paris.

Nice to hear it. I’m no vet or serviceman but I’ll be in Normandy July and will be sure to show my respects at the beaches and memorials.
