What is this!?

I'm going to look up that stature and other info there to see if this is legit...they can't do this can they:

THIS WEBSITE HAS BEEN CONFISCATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL STATUTE §1.013.021

YOUR IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN RECORDED AND IS BEING TRANSMITTED TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES.

Mouse over the American flag flying at the bottom and watch it explode. NOW THAT IS WIERD!!! Click on the flag and you will go to the Moron webpage.

Hmmm...this can't have been confiscated, or else I'm sure they would have grabbed the whole site....or are they too stupid? Have a look at the actual site here...as for that main page from the USDJ...i'm still undecided if it's real or not.

www.bushisamoron.org...

I did a Google search on Federal Statute 1.01.021, and the only result was that website. I'd say it's all rubbish.

This is just BS. A google on' FEDERAL STATUTE §1.013.021' turns up one result- the site in question.

I did a google search on the statue in question also and it turned up the site. Then I deleted the last 3 numbers to see if it'd turn up anything signifigant and it didn't....so i'm still skeptical...real or not?

I had a look at this website one thing that's quite interesting about it is it has the correct address for the cyber crimes division for the doj as well as a intersting set of text at the bottem of the website.

Intersting I will look into this.

The person who owns the site created that fake page to go along the theme of Bush Is An Idiot. He made it look like the government confiscated his site because he was Bush bashing. Do you really think that if the government confiscated a web site, that they would tell everyone? They would just close it down. Also the fact that a link to the default.php is present shows that this is a fake page. You fell for it, just like the site owner wanted you to.

Also, any website can put code on the page to log and track your IP. No big deal, it's easy to do, but you can't obtain any information other than the service provider and location of that provider. The ISP won't give that information out easily. Haven't you seen the news and how the ISP's were denying that information to those RIAA bastages, etc. It's hard to obtain that info without a fight!!! So it's not like you are being violated or anything!

The only way you should be worried about this :
"YOUR IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN RECORDED AND IS BEING TRANSMITTED TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES"
is if you are looking at some child porn website. Other than that, you have the right to visit any site on the net.

Judging by the content it's pretty clear to me that this was intended as a goof.

It should be obvious to everyone that if the government did choose to shut down a website they wouldn't post notes all over it gloating.

You'd get a 404. Not a "This site has been confiscated and you're in trouble for looking at it."

It was a joke

The origional site looked like a cool site with animations of the dufus in chief.

The new site is actually one of those sites held by a site name seller, look at the advertising on it. DOJ would have a statue on the page with serious looking graphics and links to gov pages.
