More Green Flashes of Light in Skies

So just to break it down all I really got to say is that I live here in central California about 20 miles south of Fresno, and it was a pretty clear and calm sunny day today. At about 10 p.m. the Wind and Rain picked up out of nowhere. I came outside to witness 40 miles per hour sustained winds for about 45 minutes with little to moderate rainfall. Then, all the sudden I saw dim white Flashes that were Illuminating the clouds, and it looked like they were coming from the ground to my Northeast. It was then accompanied by green glowing flashes that lit up pretty bright in the sky, probably due to cloud coverage and rain. This is not the first time that I have witnessed this during a sudden freak storm and the flashes coming from in the same direction. I do believe I've posted something about this before. Sorry to keep this short but my phone is dying and I got to get inside. I hope some of you have some light to shed on this (pun intended).

Yep , lightning with green lights in the sky usually is transformers blowing out.

Heat lightning?

My brother and I saw two yellowish flashes light up the horizon around the peak of the eclipse, separated by maybe a minute or two. No sound. A friend of mine reported something similar. Some people are saying this is plasma activity possibly related to a pole flip / solar activity.

all the flashes of light over the last month have been green specifically, interesting.

The blue/green light is produced by the electric arc vaporizing the copper conductors in the transformer. Other colors (red, yellow, etc.) are clues to the metals being vaporized.

Some failed transformers arc for quite a long time before they finally pop and go dead. When the oil bath in the container (designed to help cool the coils in normal operation) overheats and spills out, it can be quite explosive. You don't want to be up close and personal, taking a selfie for Faceboob, because you might get flash fried.
