The eruptive activity that took place at Mt. St. Helens over a 12 hour period yesterday was reported in this ATSNN article. The emissions that took place yesterday included apparently high-pressure emissions, accompanied with projectile debris at times. The past 48 hours has seen increased seismic activity, as well as continued emissions.

Mt. St. Helens Emitting Again
Mt. St. Helens' activity started around 3:00 a.m. PST yesterday, but reached a level that could qualify as "explosive" around 10:30 a.m. PST and lasted for approximately 12 hours. The movie I created yesterday, from Johnston Ridge Observatory webcam images, documents this volatile activity. Meanwhile, the USGS update for yesterday stated "The volcano is clear this morning, emitting no steam." That stayed up all day yesterday, while I continued to scratch my head and wonder why such an official statement had been made in the face of blatantly increased activity. Today, if you go to the USGS Archived Updates for Mount St. Helens you will find the first "gap" in archived updates since the first of the year. That gap would be for yesterday. Apparently, this extremely inaccurate update for 02/26/05 has been removed, with no corrected report issued in its place.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

The past two days have seen over 12 earthquakes within the volcano in access of a 2.0 magnitude. Though the volcano's summit was ringed by clouds through-out the day today, the eruptive activity, in the form of high-pressure steam emissions was clearly continuing, as evidenced by the second video today.

It is unclear why the USGS report yesterday was so inaccurate, and why the decision was made not to correct it, but to completely remove it from the archived updates.

How weird, I was thinking about Mt St Helens last night and why everybody suddenly stopped talking about it.

I was actually going to ask tonight about whatever happened with the whole situation.

I guess I have some underlying small psychic ability that has went unnoticed until now

WHAT?!

Do you have any more information on this? ...Suddenly sounds suspicious, what with all the other info that's coming out lately...

The source shows the following and as you can see it is not related since it is dated in Feb.

shots - it is related - that was the beginning of this week's activity. And the record was removed? Hmmm. Like dgtempe said - something is funky.

Not really.
What was removed or not updated had nothing to do with yesterday's eruption.
As one who keeps up on that stuff constantly I can assure you of that.

Udate like what?
The situation hasn't changed since the latest eruption.....

If you need an article to be at peace, here ya go:

Scientists said the explosion did not appear to indicate a higher risk of a more dangerous blast, noting that high levels of the kind of gases that often signal an eruption had not been detected in recent flights over the crater.

The latest blast may have been triggered by partial collapse of a lava dome which began growing in the crater beside an older dome in October.
