Time for people to show their true colors

Either we are a nation ruled by law or we are a dictatorship. It's getting pretty close to the time when people have to start showing their true colors.

Everyone hates Congress and politicians. Everyone loves the military! STRONG leadership can only really come from having a right wing military style dictatorship. Congress is designed to be messy where the minority opinion has more power or just as much power as the majority.

So which is more important, the oath to the Constitution, or loyalty to ones party?

Choose. Please comment on why you choose on over the other. Time to show your true colors if you have the backbone to do it!

The only answer is the oath. If you choose party over country then you are a traitor and should be treated as such.

Either we're a nation that would ignore or disregard the rule of law and the US Constitution, or we aren't.


I will always side with those who would protect, defend and uphold the US Constitution.

The problem is, IMO, neither in a weak government nor a strong military; the problem is in the uninformed, apathetic, lazy, greedy, short-sighted, manipulable, poorly educated, entertainment-intoxicated, hand-out addicted, thoughtless, non-participating electorate.

(I apologise for any appropriate adjective that I may have left out.)

Remember the old story about how some people asked Been Franklin what the delegates had worked out, and his answer was allegedly, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Rules is rules-simple as that.

However the laws are so convoluted nowadays it's hard to differentiate right from wrong. Politics is like sports, the rules change every year and it's hard to keep up. Look at the game of cricket-"fair delivery, let's go the hot spot...let's rock n' roll it...okay let's go the hot spot...okay let's go the ball tracker-OH GODAMMIT HE'S OUT, MOVE ON ALREADY!!!

No wonder there are so many ambulance chasers around.

That's the root problem no American wants to admit.

We need to have accountability if we want real change. Blaming people for our inherent flaws won't do a thing.

The oath is meaningless in an age where ones word is fungible depending on circumstances rather than innate pride in making promises and keeping them.

Since personal reliability is no longer in vogue the oath needs to be given teeth. It should be a criminal felony with prison time as punishment to violate an oath to the constitution.

This one item would go a long way cleaning up mess and weed out those incapable of living up to constitutional oath from taking office or position in service of this nation.

That would leave no room for partisan games at all.

Military dictatorship not needed!

Reflection of the 50% of the population that actually participates.

And we do have systemic problems, because if someone doesn't want to know what's going on, I'm glad they're not participating. But that is a problem so much of the country just wants everything to operate autonomously, and that's not how a democracy works.

The Constitution hands down. If we're blaming parties...either party...we're misguided. We have both parties (and others) for the very reason to haggle the issues to come to an agreeable mutual common ground. All are responsible for coming to agreement ...or not.

The stage musical-play-movie "1776" is a good example to use for comparison watching the founding fathers ague, scream at each other, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson yellng what should and shouldn't be in our Declaration of Independence...even word for word.

In the end, thru great argrument, disagreements, positions, denials...all came together anyway. They had to. So looking back to the time....who held it up? No one and everyone. Putting blame or blind faith in any party is wrong...

If we think it is 1 or anothers fault singularily? Watch "1776" or go back to the history books. Royalists, Loyalists...whomever....it took all to stop...raise in approval and agreement, handshakes...and finally...signatures on a single document.

Plus did you know they don't pay you to go vote? Someone told me it's a civic duty..... More like fascism if you ask me.

This country is a constitutional republic, any attempt to circumvent the constitution should be considered treasonous and handled accordingly.
There have been amendments made that were good for the people, but there have been many many more things done that go against it and that is sickening.
Anyone who takes an oath to enforce and defend the constitution should take their oath seriously, I believe most of them do but more and more of the people who end up in power positions seem to forget that oath that they took and should be removed.

Part of the country wants socialism, part of it wants a dictator. I hope we have some that still think the current system works if people use it correctly.

I think I need to go see a doctor. I seem to have this malfunction that makes me imagine we all live on this giant ball floating through space breathing the same air.

Who loves the military? Yeah, not me.

Which one do I choose? None. I kinda don't like things that divide people like team colours and self segregation.

Wouldn't weak leadership that will do what it is told, be far better for the people than strong leadership?

Just sayin', because I'd rather have a voice than be oppressed by some belligerent dictator.

Based upon a little history, the only ones who would want a strong leader would be sycophant masochists.
