Senate Votes Unanimously to Rebuke Anti-Christian Remarks by Kamala Harris and Support Religious Freedom in US

After Kamala Harris and Mazie Hirono attacked Judge Brian Buescher because he's a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ben Sasse passed a senate resolution saying it would be “unconstitutional” to consider membership in the Knights of Columbus a disqualifying criteria for public office.

The article has a nice little list of senators who've displayed anti-Catholic bigotry: Dianne Feinstein (CA), Dick Durbin (IL), Kamala Harris (CA) and Mazie Hirono (HI).

Maybe we should forward this list to Hispanics, particularly ones in California?

so many other things make Her Trash, why do the snowflakes focus on "Anti-Christianity" when according to the "Constitution" Religion has no place in politics anyway...

not knowing her Religion, it seems you have to either be a fundamentalist or you are "Anti-Christianity"

I feel it necessary to point out, they most definitely didn't "attack" him because of what religion he is. They don't like the fact that he's a member of the Knights of Columbus, which is a group that opposes same sex marriage and a woman's right to choose.
Two things which aren't that great to be opposed to nowadays.

Furthermore, the title of that article is insane. That is not what they voted on. They voted that being a member of the Knights of Columbus is not a disqualifying criteria for holding office.
They did NOT vote to rebuke what Senators Harris and Hirono said.

Poorly worded and incredibly misleading article title, as is the entire article.

Because it's still discrimination. Liberals are well known for their discrimination, so it's good to finally see one of them called out on it.

They'll have to get over it.

The Knights of Columbus are a men's guild associated with the Catholic Church, and they perform charitable work. Any political positions they take are an extension of their being a catholic group.

Yes, Harris having a problem with it is evidence of anti-Catholic
sentiment. The Knights are completely harmless and would only be controversial to someone who is already anti-Catholic.

It seems to me that the oath that all members of the Knights of Columbus take makes them ineligible to serve, as they have declared they have no alliance to uphold US law of the US Constitution. Taking the following oath should be disqualifying.

"I do now denounce and disown allegiance as due to any heretical king, prince or State, named Protestant or Liberals, or obedience to any of their laws, magistrates or officers.
"I do further declare, that I will help, assist and advise all or any of his Holiness’ agents, in any place where I should be, in Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Ireland or America, or in any other kingdom or territory I shall come to, and do my utmost to extirpate the heretical Protestant or Masonic Doctrine, and to destroy all their pretended powers, legal or otherwise.
"I do further promise and declare that, notwithstanding I am dispensed with to assume any religion heretical for the propagation of the Mother Church’s interest; to keep secret and private all her agent's counsels from time to time, as they entrust me, and not divulge, directly or indirectly, by word, writing or circumstances whatever, but to execute all that should be proposed, given in charge, or discovered unto me, by any Ghostly Father or any of this sacred order.
"I do further promise and declare that I will have no opinion or will of my own or any mental reservations, whatsoever even as a corpse or cadaver (Perinde ac cadaver,) but will unhesitatingly obey each and every command that I may receive from my superiors in the militia of the Pope and of Jesus Christ.

And to think California let a person like this into the court system. I look more at the People who let her be Attorney General there, they evidently do not understand her attitude should have disqualified her. I have nothing against Athiests but they need to understand we have freedom of religion here in this country. How much policy changes did she contribute to Cali's legal system that were corrupt?

Actually, in all seriousness, the whole thing isn't the fact the Knights are a religious organization, it's the Knights' pro-life stance. It's actually one of the four main categories Knight activities are based around.

Hrmmm... Heretical Protestants...

uhhhhh wth... They have to take this oath? Why would you want someone who takes that genocidal oath to be in office?

I do further promise and declare that I will, when opportunity presents, make and wage relentless war, secretly and openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Masons, as I am directed to do, to extirpate them from the face of the whole earth, and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition, and that I will burn, hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive those infamous heretics; rip up the stomachs and wombs of the women, and crush their infants’ heads against the walls, in order to annihilate their execrable race.

Islam is pro life as well, but you won't see any of bigots that are bashing Christianity for being pro life attack Islam for it.

That's due to the rather curious phenomena of "it's ok to back Christianity, it deserves it, but leave all other religions alone." Also, most of the folks who do bash Islam don't know beans about it, other than what Pastor bob Whitebread says about it. *sigh*

Or for every single Islamic Organization being against same sex marriage.
