France announces 'action plan' to counter migrant Channel crossings

France Preparing Action Plan to Counter Migrant Channel Crossing to UK

These new measures will be in addition to a joint action plan announced on December 31 by the French and British government, according to a statement from the French interior ministry. An increase in crossings by asylum-seekers, mostly Iranians, has caused alarm in Britain and put the Conservative government there under pressure to provide a response.

The quoted reference about " An increase in crossings by asylum-seekers, mostly Iranians, has caused alarm in Britain "
in the article is rather false, misleading knowing that the picture in the article yahoo/AFP used shows African Men not Iranian.

Disinformation
It seems apparently that the Mainstream News Media are now trying to cover up on which migrants are actually are crossings their way to Britain.

The article suggested claimed that there has being increase in crossings by asylum-seekers, mostly Iranians. But yet the image they used for the story shows a completely different story.

In the image it shows African Migrant jump on a vehicle not Iranians. There have being no massive waves of Iranian migrants fleeing into France, nor Europe from Iran.

The Mainstream News Media is now lying and trying to cover up the large percent of Migrants from Africa not Iran.

France Building a Wall

It seems that the French are trying to build a wall as well. But a bit to late.

This was in the article:

"This plan should enable us to end these crossings," the French statement said, adding that they were “illegal”.

"It's in our interest, as well as the United Kingdom's, to do everything to prevent new networks (of people smugglers) developing which would likely attract irregular migrants to our shores again," it added.

I don’t get it. Why would the French government not want to attract irregular migrants to their shores again?

Racism? Fascism? Bigotry?

Wasn’t the loser who runs the country recently promoting the new migrant pact? Wasn’t he condemning one of the greatest leaders on Earth for wanting to combat illegal immigration?

Why would anyone want to discourage MASS migration of third world peoples into Europe?

The problem is my friend the EU/Leftists Europe almost the entire half of Africa, Europe cant put the whole of Africa. Macron's government is a bit two years late now.
Leftists in Italy still want more migrants having learned nothing from their defeats in elections.

Be thankful for Poland, Hungary and the Eastern Block.
Viktor Orban is a great leader and smart man. I would imagine there will be many more like him voted into power in Europe over the next couple of decades.
Leftist ideology is an extremely fast-shrinking mindset.

I wonder why?

Eastern Europe should be fine for a number of years i think, not sure for Bosnia/Serbia they signed their defeats when they signed the Global Compact Migration Pact Sadly.

Greece should be fine to.

As for the current protests agaisnt Viktor Orban they are mostly led by supporters of Soros and are upset over a job law where you have to work for 400 7 days or something like that.

Those Soros Protesters are literary calling it a slave law?

Anyone who holds the racist, fascist, bigot George Soros in high regard is a total moron.

That’s not an opinion either.

‘Slave law’. They get more pathetic by the day.

No, they'd float the boats straight over the top of a wall.

What the French are doing is looking for ways to stop people from risking their lives in dangerous crossings of the channel and the people smugglers who profit from such dangerous activities.

You have to remember that these people crossing the channel dangerously are coming FROM France. It isn't like France is trying to 'defend its borders'.

The same with the British ships patrolling the channel. They aren't there to sink boats.

Perhaps the real action plan should be for France to round up and process all illegal immigrants in France. We see non stop people trying to board lorries etc. Why aren't they picked up, detained and processed? The whole thing is a farce.

Great! French government officials are going to enact an "Action Plan" to solve the problem! So, uh, what's the plan?

French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner is to travel to London soon to discuss the joint Franco-British plan, Friday's statement added.

Emmm, OK, so they are going to talk the British. Seems to me they could do this over the phone, but whatever. What's the plan?

The promise of extra patrols and police checks in ports aimed at stopping migrants trying to cross the Channel contradicts an earlier statement on Friday by French government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux.

Griveaux told a news conference that "there is no requirement to increase any further the resources there which are working very well and are proving their worth."

So the plan is deciding between, "Let's put a few more guys on this." or "We really don't have a problem."

I don't know what mastermind came up with that "Action Plan", but I'd wager he got his job through nepotism.

I wish I knew what company makes yellow vests in France. I'd invest.

Firstly, it's just a stock image for illustration.

Secondly, Iranian migrants and others are not registering for asylum in any other European nations because they want to get to Britain to do that. They don't want to live in some ghetto in Toulouse - they want London. There's estimates of c. 40K Iranian migrants who have come into Europe via the Balkans, having flown into Serbia when that country decided on Visa-free travel (yes, that's right) for Iranians. They just flew in and disappeared!

Anyway, it's not just Iranians, it's Vietnamese, Afghanis and others who are attempting to cross the Channel

We're feeling the effects here in the Channel Islands, the following stories are from 2016;

Asylum Seeker Caught in Boot of Car at Harbour

In a case that is the first of its kind in Jersey, a 28-year-old woman from Leeds is accused of helping the man – her brother-in-law – enter the island as an illegal immigrant.

...Her charge sheet describes the offence as “being knowingly concerned in the making or carrying out arrangements for securing, or facilitating, the entry into the Bailiwick of Jersey of anyone whom she knows, or had reasonable cause for believing to be an illegal immigrant."

Migrants Look to Jersey as Calais 'Jungle' Demolition Continues

Rickety boats and life jackets are a common sight in the Greek islands, where thousands of desperate migrants turn up every week from Turkey. But not in Barneville-Carteret, a sleepy seaside town on France’s Normandy coast.

So it was no surprise that alarm bells rang when a group of refugees were spotted in the town and – on the same day – a boat with seven brand-new adult life jackets and two children’s ones was discovered on a trailer in a car park near the beach.

The townsfolk’s eyes turned to the sea, where the island of Jersey is clearly visible, stretched out on the Atlantic horizon just 14 miles from the French coast.

“I think it’s pretty certain that the boat was meant to bring the migrants to Jersey,” the mayor of Barneville-Carteret, Pierre Géhanne, told the Telegraph.

Migrant Boat Headed for Channel Islands Intercepted

A BOAT carrying several migrants believed to be heading for the Channel Islands was intercepted by French authorities late last week.

The vessel, which was carrying a 'small number' of migrants according to official reports, was stopped mid-journey after leaving from near the French commune of Barneville-Carteret - about 14 miles from Jersey's north-east coast.

Migrants on the Front Line to Reach Britain: Refugee Crisis Spreads Across Normandy Coast

People smuggling gangs have set up operations in the area and there have also been clashes between rival gangs.

The Sun can also reveal that French authorities have stopped three migrant boats trying to leave for Channel island Jersey in the past month.

2018;

Suspected Illegal Immigrant Arrested

A SUSPECTED illegal immigrant was arrested after allegedly making his way to Jersey from France in an inflatable dinghy, the JEP can reveal.

...The suspect’s arrest comes after the JEP reported last month that a man swam across the harbour in St Malo during the night, before climbing aboard the Condor Rapide ferry and hiding in a storage area in an attempt to get to Jersey.

He was later discovered by staff who were carrying out a routine security check of the vessel a number of hours before it was due to leave.

Last year three Iranians – thought to be trying to reach the UK – landed at Bonne Nuit in an inflatable boat. All three were carrying counterfeit Swedish ID cards.

And in 2016, it was reported that French authorities had intercepted a vessel – thought to be bound for the Channel Islands – off the coast of Barneville-Carteret in Normandy which was carrying a ‘small number’ of migrants.

A few months later, two people were arrested after an Iranian man was brought into the Island illegally after being hidden inside the boot of a car on a ferry from St Malo...

Today's news (Guernsey);

Border Force Alert to Risk of Migrants Crossing From France

CONSIDERABLE effort is being put into reducing the likelihood of people coming to the island illegally, the Guernsey Border Agency has said.

Since November there has been a rise in migrants attempting to reach the UK in small boats.

At least 239 people are known to have crossed the English Channel, including 12 who were found off the Kent coast last week.

...On Tuesday, French authorities said they had stopped 14 migrants attempting to cross the Channel from Boulogne.

This is just the latest group in a growing number of people intercepted by the French authorities in the past month.

Just wait until it warms up a bit,......

(I've prepared this entire reply on mobile, must have taken me two hours lol)

What's so wrong in rounding up illegal immigrants and sending them home in a humane manner?
