Did you read his email from the link provided in OP? That would probably explain a lot.

As far as you never seeing him on TV, plenty of journalists don't go on TV. Being on TV is not some super-qualification that means that you are the best person to be speaking on a particular subject.

As far as watching MSNBC exclusively, the only things keeping it from being a neo-con network is that they believe in gay rights and abortion.

Should you feel so inclined to look into William Arkin, here is his wiki page. He has a trove of accolades and experience in his field of expertise. I know none of that matters as much as being on TV, but it was enough for me to read what he had to say.
