Metallica Fade to Black cover

I am sure most people are aware of Metallica but maybe not aware of the Alex Skolnick Trio.
Alex Skolnick is one of the guitarists for the thrash metal band Testament and as a side project, formed a jazz trio to perform instrumental covers of metal classics by various bands.
Skolnick is hailed as one of the premier guitarists in metal music.
Pretty interesting take on this song.

Appreciate the rundown on Skolnick — I’m sure he’s a talented artist — but, first, RIP CB, and secondly, James makes that song with his rhythm and Skolnick’s jazz version is sadly lacking.

Thanks again, but this is a song that goes down in the annals and Skolnick did him and the track a ‘2 thumbs down’.

Massive fanboi of 'tallica.

I do like seeking out covers from various Youtubers. Favorite at the moment being vkgoeswild.

This one is not that great, IMHO.

Oh man, that was great.. Never heard of this band. They must be new!!!!

Here is an actual band doing a cover of Battery, which IMO, is ever so slightly better than the original !!

Not too many fans of jazz I see.
Not that I am a huge fan of it myself but the energy is supposed to be different.

It's always quite interesting to listen to covers in a different genre
