I don't know if the world would be a better place but I'd love to know how the world would be now if the natives were left to rule the nation...

as for the falklands - are you on drugs ???????????????

I can say with 99.9% certainty that if America didn’t help during WW1 or WW2 Germany would have swept through Europe.

Prove me wrong please?

Don’t back down from that statement man.
If we didn’t provide much needed support they wouldn’t have been able to do much besides land a few troops and fire blindly.

Solo huh.....none.
Name a country that has won a solo victory of battle with ZERO support?
And I literally mean ZERO support of any kind.

How's WWII work for you?

We didn't start it...but we damn sure finished it!

ETA - Oh, an if you were alluding to Viet Nam, I will say the same thing I've said 100 times before; conventional warfare is no longer possible in the shadow of nuclear weapons. So, no major conflict / "war" (and the Falklands wasn't a "major conflict") has seen a decisive victory ever since August 1945.

But would WW1 even have happened if Great Britain had held on to the Colonies and America became an extension of the Empire?

With America's wealth and resources, the British Empire would probably have been the single global superpower, and European peace would probably have been preserved by virtue of the Royal Navies stranglehold on all international trade and travel.

Good question I must say but I guess we shall never know the answer.
Thank you France!

As a soldier these comments actually offend me. When you say the support "we" provided are you saying you were there fighting alongside the British in the Falklands? If not.."you" didn't provide anything and shouldn't claim otherwise. I've had British soldiers that "provided me with support" and they were as brave as any other soldier. If you haven't seen combat, you don't understand the value of our allies. You would have a bit more respect for if you had.

I have NOT seen combat on a battlefield. Sorry if I offended you.
I meant to only say that America provided support. Not me specifically.

I don't think anyone here is questioning the bravery of ANY soldier! I know I am certainly not.

So, I think you're reading something into a statement which isn't there.
