Popped out on the gurney and slapped by a nurse

Sent off to school to be “educated"

Marry the your dream, make babies and a home

Work away and saving money eating beans

Kids leave home and you start drinking

The end approaching and fight like hell but

I DO wonder/ponder why we bother.

I'm experiencing "empty nest" at the moment, not really they haven't left yet just talk and saving and, I'm not sure of what my future will be with NOT having folks to take care of.

This is beautifully written and I really felt this piece- stark but hard truths here.

Sometimes life does seem to be a lot of striving and the known finish line is not so appealing (from our perspective here- I do believe there is more to our beautiful existence than is visible).
