Yes. But intangible. Abstract built upon technology and power systems.
Just like GPS and satellite networks - lose the complex infrastructure that supports it, and it becomes a brick.
Having just a little tangible,physical precious metals could save you.

(and not certificates for the precious metals. Hold in your hand only (or bag, I guess if you are rich.)
