Somewhere in southern Germany circa the 8th century.

"Why is that guy naming his kid Bright Fame? He should give him a normal name like Raginaharduz."

Two French kings, a couple Dukes of Normandy, and a few kings of Scotland later.

"Why is that guy naming his kid Pokemonballs? He should give him a normal name like Robert."

Three World Presidents, a reality TV star, and two Super Super Bionic Bowl winning quarterbacks later.

"Why is that guy naming his kid Robert? He should give him a normal name like Pokemonballs."

Given the fullness of time. Some things will never change.

As for pronouncing names, I wrestled with this one for a long time *Angharad*

We've got an Ealga, an Aisling and a Niamh in the family - beautiful names.

That's fine, but if you name your kid Biabee you need a smack.

What about naming him "God"?

Another: "God damn it!"
God: "No I don't"

Another: "God bless you!"
God: "No I don't"

Another: "God help us!"
God: "If you ask nicely...."

Another: "Who do you think you are, God?"
God: "Why yes, yes I am..."

The names are pronounced Elga, Ashling (Ash to most) and Neeve. Yes they're Irish.
