Brings to mind, "Money Talks" and the biblical take, "Money is the root of all evils", combine them and you get spineless representation.

Both parties are taking these legal bribes from out of country interests. Democrats tended to take more during the 16 election period. We really need to do something about this, our citizens should be working for us, not for Aram countries and European countries. Contributions should come from American citizens and maybe if the campaigns advertising were limited by less money, we would not get the stupid political calls and Fake news on the news. Democrats spent way more on advertising last time so the Media is much more loyal to them. It is economics, the media agencies know it is beneficial to them to increase their support of Democrats so they can make more and give more money for political ads.

For anyone who's interested the other largest lobbyist countries are the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Morocco, South Korea, Bosnian Serbs, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Newsweek also came out with the information

Republicans Senators Who Tried to Kill Yemen War Resolution Were Paid by Saudi Lobbyists

I'm pretty disappointed to see how cheap these politicians will sell themselves for. Looks like the going rate for a vote is $3,000-$19,250.

11/10 hilarious post.

I'm not narcissistic enough to think I'm morally superior just because I made a crappy thread.

I do well, I can't complain.

Just sucks we can't be proud of what our country projects while we have a cake walk of a life (in contrast).

I like that analogy.

Only sad part is they keep the cell door open.

People still aren't walking out (myself included).

There is a very good reason I will never vote for a republican or democrat again, and I will evaluate third party candidates on a case by case basis.

both parties are so owned its not even remotely funny anymore.

As unfortunate as that is, at least we have a topic that isn't left vs right seeing as they are the same animal on this issue (most issues).

Wait what?
Isn't everyone against war?
We should have gotten ALL of our soldiers out of that part of the world a long long time ago.

Wow... purchasing votes, effectively, is what we are talking about here. Lets be realistic.

People call this sort of thing lobbying, but that term is pretty bloody meaningless, since no distinction seems to be made between lobby groups whose purpose is to give voice to voiceless citizens on a range of topics, and the sort of blatant corruption, cash for votes crap that this is.

The people who have permitted themselves to take money from these influencers, should be thrown in prison for the rest of their lives, no hope of parole, no hope of appeal, just rotting in a hole for the rest of their days. That should be the punishment for taking money, regardless of which party you happen to be in. Politicians should love their poverty, if it keeps their hands clean of filth like this. Honourless dogs.
