Theres a lot to untangle in these articles. First yes he is a self admitted leftist, ie real one. Ny post is always antagonistic to him though, like CNN with Trump. That article is full of a series of half truths. A good example being that much of the transportation issues are partly the state gov’s fault too. An example of that is that the Port Authority has shared control between the states of NJ and NY I believe.

Crime is not anywhere what it was back in the day per capita.

For homelessness, one can critique his policies but out of all US cities, his admin has the most ambitious plan to preserve or create affordable housing.

I can say more but at work.

I have my own other and real critiques of his admin.

Gas in Southern Ca $3.49 from my cousin about 10 minutes ago. $2.29 here in Southwest Michigan this morning. That's about $40 a week difference for me.

Nah... That's not cool.

Now if he told some rich people, "we will shave your property taxes, if you donate land/build affordable housing."

Then ok. I can get behind that.

I am about convinced that we need to set aside a space in this country where we can let the full-on communist left have their way and let them wall themselves off. We let anyone who wants to go live there, but they cannot force any of the rest of us to fund them or support them in any way. They do it on their own.

If they succeed, AWESOME!

If they fail, then they have to agree that we never, ever hear about it again.

California is quickly becoming that place...

It is? News to me and I live in California. In fact, after living in multiple places all across the country I've never experienced anywhere more lawless than CA. The cops really do nothing here. I kinda think y'all should get out and travel before making up your partisan minds. Stop with the fear mongering and news cherrypicking. Get out there. The world is vast and your microcosm is ill-informed.

CA is unaffordable. High crime. Illegals everywhere. High taxes. It is a leftist paradise.

Yes, the weather is great and some areas of the state are beautiful, but good views and sunshine don't necessarily make the state a great place to live for the average person. I really don't get how / why people live there once the shine of the year round good weather wears off.

Hmmm. Again, this just sounds lke ATS emotion-based alternative facts.

California's population is 39.5 million. Obviously some people afford to live here.
No California cities are even in the top 5 most crime ridden. In fact, in the top 30 in the country, only 2 are California cities (Stockton & Oakland). So... no.
High taxes... California ranks 10th in the US for taxes. So... also not bad considering all the other good stuff.
Illegals everywhere? This obviously stinks of right wing fear. And even if there are... not sure how it affects me, or you (except for fake news stories that they are voting and taking your jobs). Or did you want start a career in picking fruit that you are dying to see realized?

I know a lot of average people. They love it here. Just 'cause your little world is a tightly sealed box doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't enjoy life, actually know how to live in a society with people different than them, and see the world without partisan bs affecting every decision.

I lived in CA for 8 years. It's very over regulated and everything is unreasonably expensive.

It cost me $1,400 a month to rent a 650 sq ft apt. about 50 miles north of San Diego
Gas was $5 a gallon when I left in 2012.
They still call me once a week to try to get me to enroll in their stupid state healthcare exchange.
The cops hand out traffic tickets like Oprah giving out houses
last I checked they were adding 75 cent of taxes onto every gallon of gas.
And lets not forget that this is the State that planned taxes on facebooks IPO into their budget that year, reminder that their IPO was a huge bust.

Didn't like it.

You can not dispute a traffic ticket unless you pay it and disputing it costs you a fortune.

DeBlasio needs to take better care of the property he does have control over before he starts asking to control more property.

www.silive.com...

New York City Housing Authority is an utter mess; people are literally dieing because of city mismanagement... and he wants to manage more?

SOCIALISTIC IMPULSE INDEED.

De Blasio made a curious statement when he eliminated meat from Monday meals, at NYCity schools today.

“Cutting back on meat a little will improve New Yorkers’ health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” De Blasio said. “We’re expanding Meatless Mondays to all public schools to keep our lunch and planet green for generations to come.”
Source: saraacarter.com...

Do people expel less gas, if they eat less meat? Maybe only if we're in a greenhouse?
