Here's a few recent horror flicks.

Mandy (2018) - From the writer/director of Beyond the Black Rainbow. Similar art house 70's-80's homage feel. Stars Nicholas Cage but don't let that scare you off. Synopsis from IMDB:

The enchanted lives of a couple in a secluded forest are brutally shattered by a nightmarish hippie cult and their demon-biker henchmen, propelling a man into a spiraling, surreal rampage of vengeance.

I can definitely second this recommendation. It's a newer film, which is nice because it's really in a class of it's own as well. The cinematography is amazing, the color, the music, it's all so well done. Really a wild ride of a movie, has some very disturbing parts. But, it's not overly gory and doesn't have the cheap tropes other horror movies fall victim to. I think it's perfect for the people who've seen almost everything else and are looking for something new and well done. Worth the watch for sure.

Shock horror garbage, not saying it's bad, but it doesn't deserve to be held in any type of high standard . They're no cronenberg or Barker grade classics.

ETA, comment was more geared towards the first 3 listed titles.

Dont really agree with that for A Serbian Film..Yes it had some cheesy elements but it also had some quality cinematography and a crushing end.

'Eraserhead' is one of the most nightmarish films ever made.

Devil's Rejects

Devil's Rejects is a good one. I kind of think you should see House of 1000 Corpses first. It's better to see them in order. I also liked 31, another Rob Zombie film.

I can't help but wonder if Zombie isn't trying to set up a Joker and Harley film.
