The leaves were rustling, whipping across the street and back again. Trees howling and crackling as their branches swayed to and fro. The air crisp and cool with a breeze that could melt flesh from bone...well not actually, but chilling nonetheless. I ambled down the steps to be greeted by my steed. A beautiful tan on black v-twin. As I insert my key and give her a little love juice, she rolls over and says; "NO, it's too cold!." Not taking any lip from her I give her a little more and she roars to life like the beast she is. It is there that I leave her for a few. I had to wrap up a few things while she warmed up and the suspense would only make her long for me.

Properly warmed up the way a lady should be, I mounted her. A blip of the throttle and she sung the tune that in turn makes me melt. Together, we ripped off into the cold. A quick left and a flick of the shift lever took us to Nirvana. Another shift and we both screamed in unison as we slowed to the next left turn. Downshift, lean, and throttle into the curve, we howled down the strip with all the gusto an aging pair can. Hearts beating, shift, bodies vibrating, shift, ooooohh...wait, slow down! Two quick downshifts to our 3rd left turn, down a little hill to yet another left.

That's when I gave her all I had. Every bit of my soul poured into her, and her unto mine. A gradual crescendo of sound, energy and combustion roaring in the final stretch. As we both reach our peaks it is with sudden realization that there are no more left turns, only one right. It is there this tale ends and the message is realized. Woe, longing and angst is all that is left. I will park her, yet I will think about her. I will tend to her every need and yet can not give her what she desires.

As I close the garage door, I say aloud; "Until the spring anyway."

The End.

I can definitely relate. I'm getting ready to put my Schwinn cruiser bike away for the wet season.

it was really weird observing my brain holding two ideas at the same time but processing it in different faculties of my operating systems. switching rapidly from one focus to the other.

well done, well written.

Great ride story.
I am always forgetting that there are poor, unfortunate folks out there who actually have a "riding season".
I will thank the gods that I live somewhere I can ride all year (bar the odd couple of days).

I was definitely getting a Meatloaf vibe while reading that, good work.
