If you could get paid to study, what would you study?

I would study both carpentry and metalworking (welding and blacksmithing).

Those are skills that, if S ever hit the F, would be exceptionally worthwhile to know, plus, I just love working creatively with my hands.

what would you pay to study? If you would pay to study something you surely you would want to get paid to study it.

I would study being a pilot, (im starting to look into that currently). There is a huge pilot shortage right now.
Or study drumming, Music theory, sound engineering or something along those lines.

I wouldn't study porn though. Would probably be very frustrating.

City planning would be cool, you could design a bunch of hidden symbols into the streets and what not...

Ancient history, although i don't believe they would teach the truth in school. Unless it was an ancient mystery school or something. joking

Chemistry, physics, look up some of those secret space program people and see what they did (half joking)

Study particle physics, electromagnetism, and sound engineering.

It might be hard but hey your getting paid for it.

Hmmm, tough question.

I might study zoology because animals have always fascinated me. My mother still thinks I missed my calling as a field biologist.

I might also study linguistics. I ended up taking a couple courses in college and that also fascinated me. My Fair Lady is one of my favorite movies and I used to work in a private Lindamood-Bell clinic which is a system for helping kids with phonemic awareness issues. It was one of the most satisfying and fascinating jobs I've ever had.

As a dream, I would love to study cultural anthro and archaeology.

It was my dream and received a MA and went to work as a survey archaeologist for the USFS. Dream job, walking around in the woods, taking pictures.

Now studying media production thru a local cable access channel.

Hey, I agree! Everyone should study physics.

But I'd be doing it for a second time, considering that's what my degree is in already. I'd flip mine around though. Rather than engineering physics with a minor in astro, I'd go for a major in astro and a minor in engineering.

I want Theoretical Physics but I like your Astro Physics idea.

I see several other posts speaking about something in Physics like magnetism. Magnetism is a great subject. The Electrons move around the magnet doing work while the magnet sits still.

Besides, in the winters at work you are either in your warm truck, or walking to a warm building to get a screenshot on the wells.

Go straight to the Bakken oilfield in North Dakota.

Take a job that will pay you 90k a year to start with no experience. Within a year you will be at 120k with other companies begging for you.

Usually included is a gold medical health insurance policy, a company rig, free company housing and perks.

Do the job for 15 years and retire, if you save your money and not go crazy buying a new truck and boat every year.

If you are single and just live there, your only actual bill every month will be food. Everything else is paid for. I get paid 150 a month by my company to have a cell phone, for instance. Because it is part of the job.

Then study for what you want to do in life.

What I didn't mention... we sit in a truck a lot on site with a wifi connection... we are there to monitor equipment.

So there are a few of us that take online courses while we sit there.

So you are essentially getting paid to get a degree, if you want to.

I'm currently enrolled in Walden, University of Phoenix and finishing up an associates with OSHA. With that particular one, the classes are paid for by the company I subcontract to and Safety Officer makes me more money.

I already have a Bachelor's that I do not use and am fleshing out a Master's... Engineering.

Best of both worlds for me.

Colorado, so just a wee bit colder than TX. Originally from Wyoming though, which is a whole lot colder!

Oh, and yeah, unfortunately, I DO have to put up fence in it! LOL!
