I cannot discount the possibility. Fairly calm evening with winds around 4 mph, but the lighter the weight, the more subject it would be to currents. Movement appears more deliberate to me.

Nice catch! I didn't notice that even after watching a number of times. Looks like bats are the 'generalist' hunters of the night rather than specialists who eat only one thing. I wonder how the pixie population has diminished over the millenia due to growing bat populations, which would make a very interesting ecology paper!

One thing that I did learn from this is the Will-O'-The-Wisp origin. Interesting reading and does bring the question of what was observed long ago and how they came about the folklore.

I can’t remember where I was or how I got there. I just remember this thing tearing at my clothes and when I tried to scream it put it’s little hand over my mouth and I couldn’t breathe. Then a gnome came and tackled us and that’s when I was able to make my escape

Aha! Now I get the reference. I like to follow world news and often local, though I usually give our U.S. gossip a pass. When they're talking about issue that affect our daily lives, I tend to pay more attention.

If I had to guess, based on the shape, I would say it is a large moth. It seems to sharp and well defined to me, I am guessing photoshop..wish it was a fairy.
