How bad are Toyota drivers that they need features like collision detetion and safety sense?

If you did miles per litre you would be mixing imperial with metric.

Therefore you need km/L or more commonly KM/100KM.

Most of us can understand MPG as it has been around so long.

Well...........in the country I live we work with miles, not km. So I would like to see how many miles a litre does.
Petrol stopped being sold in gallons around 40 years ago......but miles is still used here.

In reply to myself, I came across situations in the aluminium construction industry which used both. In fact - most flat materials for construction in the UK use both:

"An 8'x4' of 6mm' this can be for steel, aluminium, plastic, wood - however this is not official, it is conversed rather than official. The official line would be 'a 2500 x 1220 of 6mm'.

Fat lot of good are your eyeballs when you are writing a text to your wife/mate/son/whatever. Just saying.

Cars are now massively safe, and the survival chance of a "normal" crash is pretty good - airbags, car design, seatbelts and all that. Producing things that get in the way may cause people to abdicate their responsibility on the road. If they think they've got an infallible "collision avoidance", then coupled with all the proven safety features, they may actually take more risks, and drive poorly.

Simple...more parts, more money, more things that are likely to break, more work, which equals more money.

All the carmakers are on that gravy train.

I think most of that stuff is geared towards those people that you can't pry the phones from their hands, too busy texting to bother paying attention to the road and other drivers.

Enjoy the new tech and stop being a sourpuss.
I just bought a new Acura with all the tech and I love it.

There will be more and more from here on out, not less.

I don't really need the 'collision detection' device when the deer comes through my windshield.
That would just be annoying.

Because of all the BMW and Audi drivers who don't use indicators! These f***ing morons pull out into traffic, slow down, turn, change lanes and all the while totally fricken oblivious to everyone else who has to think for them. They're even worse since the Qs and Xs came out. These drivers should be forced to have lessons before driving them. They have zero awareness of lane position or all the other drivers swerving out of their way and making sudden stops because these mindless turds think 'give way' is Chinese for speed up.

Blah Alaskan drivers suck anymore, of course that is because most drivers are now from out of state, usually California, and Oregon. Hawaii drivers are idiots too..

Working in the automotive field I have seen a bunch. Cars keep getting made out of more and more plastic because metal is too heavy to meet CAFE standards. Therefore crashes are more catastrophic to the vehicles themselves...not to the occupants as much because they are surrounded by layers of airbags. Most new vehicles have front radar for automatic braking, and lane departure warning systems, not to mention back up cameras and sensors, and even "automatic park" and "trailer control" systems.

So to me "accident avoidance" technology isn't really anything new. Nor is it exclusive to Toyota.

I had 'City brake' on a volvo a few cars back, thing is bloody awful, it slammed the brakes on a few times at roundabouts for no reason almost giving me whiplash but managed to do nothing when I rolled into the back of an suv.

I do Quite a bit of welding. I have a nice Lincoln 220 stick, As well as a MIG. And I don’t care what kind of safety equipment you have that #s not good for your eyes.

Perhaps you shouldn’t assume that somebody doesn’t have experience with what they’re talking about.
