Weather Channel overhyped the threat, giving laymen the impression that the entire region will get the eyewall treatment, so the mass flee in a panick, leaving less decent folk around to help regulate things, and then when the power goes out for a tick the poor people have an easier time looting.

As funny as the video looks, I do wonder if maybe the guy was freezing cold, or if he was a really old frail guy (hard to see his face clearly).

The thing is, that even if the reporter was exaggerating, the hurricane is actually real lol. And 60 mph winds are strong regardless how funny the video looks. Maybe it was easier to walk in strong wind, than to stand in one spot? We can see the wind beating up the trees and he throws the shingle to show the wind carry it away. Not to mention the weather graphic of the hurricane.

So um, maybe he was exaggerating, or maybe not, but either way, the wind and the hurricane are real...

Also this looks funny too, but it's not "fake news" if he was trying to just show the (real) depth of the water. My first interpretation is that the camera guys are standing on a high-ground spot, and he deliberately wanted to show the actual water depth.

Alternately A.C. and the woman COULD be crouching down to fake it, but I would first give him the benefit of the doubt that he was showing real water depth.

Plus, Katrina and deep flooding obviously DID happen, anyway lol. Even if he was crouching to "fake" this shot, we've all seen Katrina waters flooding over houses up to their roofs. So, deep-water flooding DID happen, one way or the other...
